Congrats to the winners and
Thanks for the giveaway!
Nice looking lights, looking forward to read about your impression.

Thanks guys, and thanks a lot Rey. Couldn't believe my luck. As the 3rd picked winner, I guess I'm happy and grateful with any one of the versions.

My brass Prince has arrived. There is plenty of information about this light on the Lumintop website, and here on CPF, for those who are interested, so I will not attempt a review. But a few impressions are certainly in order.

This is a fancy flashlight, every bit as elegant as claimed by the manufacturer. It stands—or stands out--in clear contrast to the many plain black or tactical lights in 18650 format. The design is pleasing, and the brass goes well with the gold pattern in the body tube.

I tried two different battery combinations in the Prince: a single CR123 cell with a battery spacer, and two CR123 cells. The former gives a useful low and medium, and a high that looks identical in brightness to the medium. Two CR123 cells make the light work as it was designed to work: three well-spaced levels, with the highest level appearing very, very bright to my eyes.

The switch appears similar to the electronic switch in the Tool Ti, but the Tool's switch behaves like a forward clicky, while the Prince's switch has a reverse clicky action. To change levels on the Tool, the light must be turned off and then back on again; with the Prince, once the light is clicked on, a single half-press changes the level. The clip is attached with two screws and seems strong enough. The reflector is smooth, not OP, and the beam is throwy rather than floody.

This is as good a use of carbon fiber in a flashlight as I have seen. The metallic flecks or threads in the body tie it in visually with the head and tail quite successfully.

Thanks very much to Rey and the others involved for the opportunity to enjoy this light.

Edit: The switch in the Prince is a mechanical reverse clicky, not an electronic switch. See a review of the Prince here: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb...-Copper-(XM-L2-U2-1x18650-or-2xCR123A)-Review
