From my latest set of these batteries (i have 10 now) one of the two were faulty.
I measured them both before charging, 3.9v for both of them. Then i put them on charge and after about 1/2 hour noticed one of the lights had turned green.

Measured it and 0v. Tried putting on charger to reset protection, no joy.
Charger is DX sku 6105. I know, not the best charger but its been working fine and is right now charging some other batteries no probs.

Ive looked through the archive but cant find anyone who has had a duff one of these batteries.

Anyone had a duff one or had one trip its circuit? Any method of resetting protection except putting back on the charger as ive tried that. Not that i would be keen on using a cheap chinese battery that has shown odd behaviour..

I've had two that came in bad, out of about 12. I didn't bother complaining.

The ones that were good are working out great. In the end money well spent for me. They're pretty inexpensive.

I removed the ones from mine, the batteries were dead, wouldn't take a charge.

If it happened to me, I would report it to DX and request replacement. I'm pretty sure they would provide it in the end, although it might take a while. I have heard several accounts of them replacing defective items without requiring the defective items being returned.

......I have heard several accounts of them replacing defective items without requiring the defective items being returned.

The last time I had a problem, I received 6 LiFePO4 18650 cells. 3 of the 6 had damaged shrink wrap and I was afraid to use them in a 3x 18650 light for fear of them shorting out. I contacted them and they asked me to return them to an address in Florida. I wasn't sure what the postage would be, probably more than the cells cost, but my big concern was what I would tell the folks at the post office when asked what was in the package. "Damaged Li-Ion batteries". Somehow, I don't think that would have floated too well with the P.O.

I ended up patching up the cells rather than returning them. Seemed it wasn't worth the hassle. Anyway, apparently they have a "returns" address in the U.S. now, so they are more likely to have customers in the U.S. return defective merchandise. In most cases, considering the cost of most of the stuff on DX, it probably isn't worth the trouble and most folks will probably just take a loss, or whatever like I did. It may work differently if you're in the U.K. It's definitely worth a try.

Not keen on removing the protection circuit as it would be the only unprotected battery i have. Not good in a 4S application :shakehead

Ive notified DX and even took the obligatory photos of it measuring 0v on the multimeter. Hopefully as its just one battery they wont ask me to return it and will just send out a new 2pack.... hopefully..:sssh:

Just annoying as i dont have any spares.

Never heard of them asking someone from UK to return to a UK address so thats probably just a US thing. No doubt a large percentage of their customers are US.
