Dyson v7 Motorhead Vacuum Battery Pack replacement Recommendations

Hey guys,

So, I have a Dyson V7 Motorhead for approx. 4-5 years now.

The battery doesn't last long enough for me to get through my entire house, and am interested in changing it.

I know Dyson offer replacements online, but the original battery pack was a mere 1900 Mah - and the battery compartment is quite large.

I was wondering if anybody knows of any alternative battery pack I could purchase that would have a higher Mah?

Granted, I know lots of them online (on amazon) say that they are 4,600 Mah, and are not...it's false advertising and when tested they are closer to the 2,000 mark.

Regardless I'm wondering if anybody had any advice or knew anybody who custom makes these possibly for a fee?

It performed far better than the original ever battery ever did - was able to vacuum about 90% of our 2400 sq ft home on a fresh charge where the original was only good for about 50 - 60% of the house (when the battery/vacuum were new). The capacity has fallen off by about 10% in the 3 years since new. I am careful to not recharge until it is completely cooled down for at least 1/2 hour or so.
Guessing there might be similar options available but haven't done any searching, etc.

I haven't personally used this, but plan to try it out once the stock pack in my Dyson starts to die. Seems like a good concept with swappable batteries from a reputable tool company like DeWalt. Even better if one is already in the ecosystem.

I bought an aftermarket battery for mine, and it has held up well. The trick is to not store the Dyson on the charger, the charger appears to kill batteries prematurely (probably has a trickle mode or something).

I may actually try this... I'm thinking those tool batteries should be a HECK of a lot stronger than the battery packs that come with dyson... So should mean strong suction, sustained for longer periods of time. Also nice because if your battery does die ... you can swap it with a fresh one in seconds... (Something that Dyson should have incorporated..so stupid that they didn't make it so you can readily swap battery packs)

Dyson batteries are 21.6v nominal. I've read of people having success with that type of adapter and some 18v DeWalt and Milwaukee packs. But I've also read complaints of destroyed batteries - especially DeWalt PowerStacks.

I use a similar adapter that takes Kobalt 24V packs (21.6v nominal). The adapter blocks the Dyson's charge port, but I don't care about that. Otherwise, it works great.

Sounds like Dyson went out of their way to make it difficult to use non-Dyson batteries.
