BTW, does anybody know haw to replace the switch? Is it done from the inside with long pliers or from the outside, after removing the rubber cap?

Not that I need to do it right now, everything works just fine. Just curious (as I ordered an extra switch with my grey 18500 body)

Looks to me like long needle nose pliers from the inside will allow you to unscrew the assembly, though I haven't tried it yet. Hopefully someone else can confirm that.

Fivemega... having several of your products now, I must thank you for your creations!

Regarding the Streamlight switch in many of the bodies you supply, you mention in your removal instructions to NOT re-use a switch which has been removed from the body... why is that? Does removing the switch damage it in some way?

Thanks for your help.

After removing the switch, electrical contacts to body will get bend and for $4 cost of switch, it's better change it with new one rather than reuse.

I'm already powering an IMR-E2 w/ 2x IMR16340 (2A draw) in a 18650 E body, and you can use an Axial bulb in a bi-pin E socket w/ 3x IMR16340 (?A) in a 2x 18500 E body. What 2x IMR18500 compatible LA that fits in an E bezel are you gonna use that will beat up the switch any more than that?

Also, I'm using an IMR-M3T in a KT2 on a FM 2C body (which uses the same switch) drawing 3 1/4A without a problem.

The IMR 18500 can push harder than 2xIMR 16340's.

With a switch, it depends on the current more than it does the voltage.

10 amps from a single cell is tougher on a switch than 5 amps from three cells.

And C cells, even harder! (even LiCo, which is what I'm using to power my IMR-M3T)

I never mentioned voltage, but two out of three of my examples do give the current (2A for the IMR-E2 LA, and 3 1/4A for the IMR-M3T LA); I just don't own an Axial bulb to test!

The above leads back to my original (unanswered) question:
What 2x IMR18500 compatible LA that fits in an E bezel are you gonna use that will beat up the switch any more than that?
Because if you do know of a lamp brighter than a IMR-E2 (for use with 2x IMR18500), or an Axial in a bi-pin E socket (for use with 3x IMR16340), let me know, I want to buy one, that's all!

The IMR E series lamp is the most demanding one I know of for the 18500 setup.

Maybe it isn't as drastic as I thought, but there is a thread that shows the IMR lamp melting the surefire E series switch with a couple IMR16340's.

If any more discussion is going to be done about this, I think the proper places is the IMR thread in Incandescent.
