I like to EDC my lights on my keychain. Are either of these lights too big for a standard jeans front pocket? Am I correct in assuming the E1E has more spill and overall brightness?
If it does not have a lanyard attachment I guess the keychain idea is no good.

For me, the E1e is just a wee bit big for keychain carry or the watch pocket of a pair of jeans, but I toss mine in my pocket a lot. However, my personal favorite carry method is a large Swiss Army Knife sheath from Victorinox. I EDC my E1e+KL1 that way and almost forget that it's there. Safe, secure, and you always have it at hand.

The standard E1e is quite wimpy but has better spill.

I carry a 3rd-generation KL1 + E1e on my keychain, and it is comfortable in both dress pants and jeans. No problem at all.

The E1e's clip has a little loop for a lanyard, I attached a split ring and McGizmo's 25mm clip so I can release the light from my keys quickly when I need it. The Victorinox sheath fits perfectly too, from the days when I used to carry a SAK, now a Leatherman Squirt P4. Perfect /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I EDC a KL4/FB1 on my keys. They're on a wide nylon lanyard, and the light can be unsnapped from the rest of the keys in a second. I'm yet to have a problem fitting them in a pocket, either front or back of pants. I'll never go back to a little keychain light.

I carry a E1E with KL4, but I too keep it in a pouch in my fat boy.

If you want a good edc light for a key chain I would suggest TnC Keylux N cell.

Ok... I LOVE MY E1L!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to carry it everywhere.. But because it doesnt last as long, I switched the body to make a E2L.. It lasts significantly longer and I dont have a problem with the size in my pocket..

( oh by the way... who likes my new avatar?)

The incan head of the E1e is quite a bit shorter than the KL1 heads so the E1e would be more compact than the E1L. See the following pics for size reference:
