Hey guys,
how tight is your E2 clip??
does it gets in the way when u wan to remove or install the bezel???

i have 2, one is tight so tight that it is a bit tricky to install the bezel
the other one is loose. the clip just barely touch the body

which is normal??

ane one more thing
one of them has a rather tight beam, like a scorpion which forcus all the way down.
the other has a bigger less intense beam.

so does the
"factory prefocused to within 5 thousandths of an inch"
apply to "E" series????

My clip is tight, which is as it should be, IMHO.

Beam is not sharp focused, "just right".

Mine is what I would consider tight, but not so much that it interferes with the bezel removal/installation.

I'd guess the beam "core" measures about 15 inches across at about 10 feet across the room. The beam is diffused so smooth that it's really difficult to get an accurate measurement. It really "punches" through the darkness, however. I like it just the way it is.

I, too have noticed variation in the E-series. I have an old-style (plain bezel) E1-HA that has a perfectly even beam that is so diffuse that there is essentialy NO hotspot past 20 feet, while my new E1-GM has a nice, sharp beam at over twice that distance. I tried switching lamps, adding washers, etc, but the problem seems to be in the reflector shape itself. If it's really a problem, that is - I should probably feel grateful that I got one of the few "wide beam" E1's made, as it's great for up close work and I don't need a beamshaper!

My orginal bezel has a nicebeam
abt 30 inch at 10 ft (total, not core)
the new one that SF sent is abt 40 inch

Spidey, I adjusted the clip of my E2 to be a little tighter so as to grip a shirt pocket more securely.

If you hold the flat "bezel-fitting" top part of the clip between two smooth faces in a vice, then you can carefully bend the clip how you want it.
If you don't succeed in holding it securely up to the actual fold, then after bending, it probably won't sit cleanly on the bezel again.
Also, the fold has already been highly stressed during manufacture, so not a good idea to do it too much.
I modified mine by moving it slightly each time, then testing the result until I got it right.
