I know this is old news, but I just recieved a E2 executive and I love it. It's my first 2-cell Surefire. It's silver in color. If you have one or had on please talk. Again, i'm sure it old news, but it's new to me!

I used to EDC an E1E. Now I just put my tail switch form my e1e on my e2. Now I have a E2 with lock out switch. I put the e2 switch on my E1E with KL1, and It even makes it shorter! Color cordination means nothing to me!!!. I'll find a way to carry both and i'm set! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Kodiak,
I've got an E2e and an E1e and an E2. I love them all. They each have their own little personality. Having said that, My E2e kind of bums me out. The momentary switch doesn't work very well, kind of sporadic. Sometimes it works ok then the next time it will stay on for a second then go off. I sent it back to SF and they said it was ok. For sure it is not as smooth as my E1e. Anyway my E2 is black and it is my EDC. Best light going IMO. dtsoll

Eric,
I used to have an E2, great light!
I still have an E2e HA and it is my favorite incandescent. I alo have an E1e but it stays home since I got an Arc LSH-P (My favorite LED light).

Trevor, do you think of getting a KL1 for your E1e? I'm wondering how that compares to the LSH-P.

I wonder too. Arc keeps increasing brightness -- from M bin up to a lot of Q bins now. Yet, AFAIK, SF is still plodding along at ~ 15 lumens -- M bin.

Perhaps someone here knows about advances in the KL1 as time goes on.

I have come close to purchasing a KL1 for my E1e several times but I think I am over that now. I was so thrilled with my LSH-P that I bought a second one. Currently I am waiting for the LS5 from Arc (a possible E2e replacement) and a KL-4 from Surefire. I will try both and see which one I like best.

I think Surefire's lumen ratings don't work the same way as Lumileds and Surefire's ratings are more conservative (i.e. lower). I tried an LSH in the store the other day and while it was impressive for an LED, there's no way that it's half as bright as a 60-lumen Surefire P6. That said, the Luxeons do seem to be improving steadily. I hope that by the end of this year we'll see them in mass market flashlights.

Yeah, it's really hard to compare two flashlights when one is a narrow beam and the other wide. I think we all tend to judge by candlepower or lux, the intensity at the beam center. When I see a strong narrow beam, I tend to ignore all the light in the corona.

I plan to get a Space Needle II soon -- an LED with a narrow beam, reported to be brighter at beam center than the M3 with low output lamp assembly.

By the way, I think the E2e is about the minimum amount of light that I want for a "tactical" light. I am really hoping that the KL-4 or the LS5 will put out some serious light. I am also going to look at the new Streamlight 5 watt lights but you just can't beat the size and power of the E2 for EDC.

Thanks for all the great feedback! I'm getting in the mail a ARC LS Rev 1. I may carry that and my new E2 insted of my E1E/KL1. The arc fits in the watch pocket of jeans I hear.

Paulr: A quarter of an inch shorter!

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif You know what I did last night? I put my KL1 head on my new E2. Oh wait a miniute, that was my E1E head. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/twak.gif

Needless to say that didn't last very long. About a split second! Where do you guy get your E1E lamps?

kodiak...there's a LOT of places to buy LA's for your SF. I buy mine at LPS Tactical www.lagger-pro.com

They have good prices and free USPS priority shipping, and they've NEVER screwed up an order of mine...FYI...

Thanks PJD, I'll check it out. Now, for a personal preferanse question. I sure would like to have the runtime
of the 25 lumen lamp, but I don't know if I want to sacrefice and go from 60 to 25 lumens. When I need a light it is usally not completly dark. This is why I can't EDC my KL1. I need a beam to look into places. Anyone have any input?
