Yes, well, /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif, I did that, and now I'm asking people on the forum.

Re: E2E and E2D -- what\'s the difference?

Other than the color(HA black on the E2d), bezel(Domed glas lens on the E2d and the teeth), tail cap(E2d has clickie tail cap that can stand on), and the lazer engravingS on the side, they are identical lights.

Re: E2E and E2D -- what\'s the difference?

To the look of it, I'd think it's mostly the strike bezel. That seems to be the major difference, IMO..

Re: E2E and E2D -- what\'s the difference?

that's what I was thinking...just curious if I wasn't missing something. I think the E2D comes black HA only...?

Re: E2E and E2D -- what\'s the difference?

Yes. just black HA only.

Re: E2E and E2D -- what\'s the difference?

The "strike" bezel with it's crenelations and the crenelated shrouded Clickie TailCap are the two major differences.

The E2e is standard in HA (natural) and the E2d is standard in Black HA.

The E2d was released with a domed Pyrex window rather than a flat one. However, I heard a while back that it had changed to being a flat Pyrex window like the E2e.
Also, The E2e is starting to be released with the Z57 Clickie TailCap rather than a push buttom momentary pressure switch TailCap.

And this domed lens has been said to have made the E2d have a little more throw. I have no Idea if it does, i know in a A/B test, with two E2d's and E2e's, I noticed the E2d seem's to have a slight advantage in throw. VDG

Re: E2E and E2D -- what\'s the difference?

I have not noticed any difference (I have a few of each).
But then I find it rather hard to spot differences in throw until they are significant (dramatic).

It's not a dramatic difference, but it has been discussed here a few times. VDG

Re: E2E and E2D -- what\'s the difference?

The E2D I bought recently has the newer flat lens and it has a tighter beam than the domed lens version at a local store.

The beams from my E2D and E2e are virtually the same.

Re: E2E and E2D -- what\'s the difference?

I've got both domed and flat E2Ds and they both have a tighter spot than my E2Es. I asked Surefire and they said something about the reflector being slightly different.
