I like the SL Scorpion's rubber handle. Howerver, the design of the Scorpion doesn't allow it to really be made waterproof.
So, how about taking an E2 and turn a dumbell shaped channel into it, then putting a rubber tube into the channel and offering it as a variant.
You would end up with a rubber "inlay" that didn't affect any of the mechanical parts of the light, and if the rubber gets damaged, simply pull or cut it off and fit a new one.
