EagleTac M2/M2X "Megalight" which one did you pre-order?

I don't know what driver they are going to use in the end for the M2X - but if the C2800 light engine is pumping 2.8amps into the the 4 die MC-E - thats only 700mah for each die - so its not much more light coming out the front - thence why M2=900 lumens :ironic: and M2X=800 lumens :ironic: - but of course two totally different beam profiles.

D bin SSC P7 is spec'ed at 800 to 900 lumens at 2.8 amp, they just picked the highest possible emitter lumen, of course what you'll get is a lot less.

you are right - and thats why I put the :ironic: icon after the quoted lumens (well the icon is called "ironic" but i was using it as a "yer right" icon) 😗

I was looking at the M2X specs and it says its using a C2800 Light Engine.If you divide 2.8A by 3 R2's your getting 933ma to each R2.I thought they were going to push these harder like at 1.2A each which would beabout 275 Lumens each.Im kind of dissapointed when I saw they were using a C2800. I think Ill go with the P7 version.Im just going by the specs I read is this correct or was that a mistake.:sick2:

For M2 - M2X current = 2.8A (3*0.933A for M2X)

P7 D bin = ~765 lm

3*R2 = ~792 lm

In theory, M2 and M2X can have the same power output.

Personally I'd trust SSC's measurement over guy with a lux meter. But then again SSC did say there's a +/- 10% error, so there could be a large output difference in P7 version.

According to Crees Chart the R2 should be right a 240 Led Lumens X3 is 720 Lumens at the Led.Out the front should be 612 Lumens out the front.I would had much prefered them to drive them at 1.2A which would had been right around 840 Lumens at the Led.I guess since they already had the drivers made they didnt want to have to have 2 designs.

They are in at PTS! I was just told over the phone my M2X should ship today! :twothumbs Which means hopefully I'll have it in my hands by the weekend. Now if I could just get news that my Olight M30 shipped, it would be a perfect week.

I know.........but I prefer to be an optimist.....especially when it comes to LED's and throwers. 😉

And like I've said before....the human mind is pretty ingenious about coming up with neat things like that.....I love seeing what it can do.
