Hi Everyone,

Up for review is the Eagletac P20C2 RGB Kit. Eagletac also included a tailstanding cap and an OP reflector.

Here are some of the specs from flashlightsNgear.com

  • Maximum 300 lumen / 60lumen / 5lumen
  • 2XCr123A (Rechargeable 4.2V supported)
  • Runtime 1.5 hrs / 13hrs / 180+ hr
  • Three levels of output activated by twisting the Head/Bezel
  • CREE XR-E Premium R2 emitter in WD tint
  • Crenulated Stainless Steel Bezel
  • Syntax ultra-clear hardened/glass lens with AR coating
  • Mil-Spec Hard Anodized (Type III)
  • Tactical Forward click tail-cap, easily activated with gloves

A bit of background:
I surprisingly made a discovery when browsing flashlightsngear.com, 2 new, "P" series models.. sweet! The thread can be found here.
Not much other info elsewhere, though the light has been for sale for a bit. I think this is the shortest copy I've ever written for background info.

here is the light:

more nice packaging from eagletac :)

more RGB filters! (though I'm not doing RGB beamshots for all of them this time... that would take too long, and would be pointless unless someone specifically requests the shots. I forgot to put the instruction manual in this shot.

high quality holster, as usual.

more parallel knurling on the light... interesting. It feels cool.

art shot. it's interesting to note that eagletac isn't using one of the newer XR-E LED dies, the EZ900, but the EZ1000.
there is no difference that really matters between the 2, though

Impressions
The Eagletac P20C2 is the smallest eagletac that features the RGB filter system. Do not doubt it because of its size, though, as it is every bit a light as its bigger brother, the T20C2. In some ways, this light is an improvement.. it's smaller, has a better beam.. but each light has their benefit. The T20C2 is a thrower of a light, and can also take 18650s. If you don't use 18650s, though, that probaby doesn't matter.

This light easily slips into the pocket, and is rather unobtrusive. A protruding tailcap, though possibly harder to carry, makes the light easier to whip out in emergency situations.

With a protruding tailcap, this light is easy to activate, and the feel of the clicky is nice, too. This tailcap is slightly less sensitive than the P100C2, but more so than the T20C2.
I forgot to mention this in my last review, but the sensitivity of the T20C2 is a bit too low for me.

Eagletac has once again impressed me with their RGB and diffusers.. the diffuser is provided in the base model, and very useful!

I have a big complaint regarding the strobe mode on the lights. The timing to activate them is much too slow, especially since all these lights have a foward clicky. -- it is very very easy to accidentally activate it when in a tactical situation.

I just got this light in the standard smooth reflector (which doesn't come with the RGB filters or the lanyard but does include the diffusor) and I agree about the strobe. I love the light but it is already very annoying how easy it is to activate the strobe.

Great review! :twothumbs
Mine should arrive soon and will be my first EagleTac. I'm not a big user of the strobe function so I hope it wont become an issue with me. I was impressed with all of the other features vs cost. I'll give an update after it arrives from FlashLightsNGear.com.

When I registered the light with eagletac.com I mentioned the strobe issue. You should too if you feel the same way!

Strobe is accessible from general & turbo mode.
But is the output of strobe the same?

Would it be better if strobe was only accessible from turbo, so that you can do signaling on general?

Also it would be nice to have low remembered.

upgrades for mkII?

thank you guys for reading :)

output of the strobe appears to be the same regardless of the mode you're in..but it's hard to tell.

Good idea on the strobe only in turbo!

I disagree on the low mode memorization, as then you would have to go through a few more twists to go back to high or medium.

Okay, so if you get to low mode via leaving the head in the turbo mode, then low isn't remembered upon restart. Everybody is happy.

Didn't someone say that low mode memory would have a parasitic drain?

Another great review Craig, Ive been EDCing this light for a few weeks now and truly love it. Its small but not too small, bright and the User Interface is very simple to use, its hard to beat for the money considering what all you getting, many have no idea how nice this light really is. Thanks for sharing this information, I hope to see many more of your reviews in the near future :twothumbs

Received mine on Tuesday thanks to Daniel @ flashlightsngear.com. Great light, good size and puts out some decent light. The only con is the strobe. For the value of the light, I can deal with it!

Got mine today very nice upgrade over the P100C2 in quality and brightness.

This is one I'm for sure gonna EDC starting now. I received a textured reflector with it and tried it out and did not see alot in difference so I put the smooth one back in for overall brightness and throw.
