Here is the way I created my aspheric mod. Simply order the 55mm aspheric lens from surplus shed, place it on top of your D or C Mag bezel, and slip on the factory Mag anti-roll accessory. Viola, thats all there is to it. As far as I can tell, the results are identical to the popular 52mm lens, maybe a bit better, but it can be easily slipped onto any D or C mag and off again just as fast. The aspheric lens actually sits on top of the bezel, not on the glass lens, so I take out the boro lense and use only the aspheric to reduce light loss due to reflection off two lenses. The anti roll device actually protects the lens to a great degree as well. You would have to drop the light almost directly lens down to impact the lens, and the anti-roll funtion itself helps keep the light where you put it.
I carry this light around my property at night, and the aspheric lens stays very secure. This light uses a Malkoff drop in at an advertised 240 lumens and a modamag 4AA to 1D adapter in a Ledean 1D mag host. It is a great light. It will throw a projected square of light about a city block, and will light up reflective street signs 3 blocks away (and that is with NO REFLECTOR, just the aspheric lens.)
This light soon to be replaced by my Mac built 1000 lumen Ostar
Of course the transfer of the aspheric will take about 5 seconds.
Order this 55mm aspheric while you can from surplus shed.

Sorry for the poor picture quality. My digital camera was stolen and my cell phone is the only camera option at the moment.
I hope this info is useful. I have little experince with modding, but I like to make useful lights that throw a long distance. Someone here says "Small, bright, long runtime: You can only have 2 out of three" This Malkoff aspheric is as close as I have gotten to all three, and the 1000 lumen Ostar holds promise to truly realize all three with long throw also. We shall see.
