Lost my Fenix P3D which is a light I really liked and has been a faithful friend and reliable.

I am looking for a replacement but I need something well built and can take the knocks daily life threw at the P3D.

I am looking for:

Very high output
Momentary on
Floody and even
prefer recargables either 18650 or x x CR123 or RCR123.
Decent run times
Hate pocket clips
Not a great fan of overcomplicated DUI's.........simple but some sort of variable output handy from moonlight to paint peeling

Also maybe a single cell CR or RCR123 if it carries the same punch as the twin cell/18650 options.

Not too silly on price

Any pointers of what has prooven itself in the field would be gratefully received

The Sunwayman V11R is a really nice light that fits your criteria.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Either that or a M10R if you are looking for some set modes. The only problem with the M10R is the lack of paint reeling output, if I remember correctly it only puts out 210'ish.

This may be a little off - I'm assuming since you want momentary on, that you'd need a button, but have you considered some of the very small 1xCR123A lights like the Foursevens Mini or Fenix E15 (which, by the way, I think was recently discontinued)? They're good for EDC, they fit very nicely on a keychain.

In no particular order:

Fenix PD32
Sunwayman C20C
Nitecore EC2
Zebralight SC600 (takes only 18650's)

and there are some new lights from Nitecore (just dont remember the model numbers, too many new releases!)

check out the shinning beam S-mini, it seems to be one of the smallest 18650 batteries and is about 360 lumens...at to bad for $34.

HDS Rotary or Clicky fit your criteria perfectly, except maybe price, but they're well worth the money.

I went with Eagletac D25LC2. Not a forward clicky but I learned to appreciate its slim design in an 18650 format. 600+ lumens on high and great flood-to-throw ratio for such a small package. UI is easy to get used to.

If you want smaller, they have the D25C which is still very powerful and accepts 16340. They're priced competitively so you'll get more bang for the bucks.

ThruNite TN12.

Similar output compared to Scorpion V2 and TN11, both of which encroach on the big gun territory for maximum output.
Momentary activation, check.
Big emitter and small reflector for projecting a huge, floody spot with plenty of throw for its size.
1x18650, 2xCR123A or 2xRCR123A.
Good runtime on all battery configuration, except when the max output is overused and the light's thermal protection throttles the brightness down to prevent it from thermal suicide.
Removable pocket clip.
Moonlight, low, medium, high, strobe. Switch modes by loosening and tightening the head.

I ordered mine from Light Junction yesterday. I love the TN11S, but it's getting a little big to carry since I've started losing a lot of weight, so I wanted something smaller without compromising on the output. TN12 should be the ideal EDC for me.

The Sunwayman V11R is a really nice light that fits your criteria.

I just ordered one of those myself! I hope they have the problems with the switch sorted out by now. I bought my V11R from the solar force store, and the extender is back-ordered at BJ, so maybe they'll arrive about the same time. This sure looks like a nice EDC 🙂

I love the Klarus XT11 in this role.

It can run on CR123's, RCR123's, or an 18650.

It has the momentary on, as well as the simplest UI, just two tail buttons...a big on/off, and a smaller one that changes the brightness.

Mine measured ~ 600 lumens with an 18650, and 850 lumens with 2 RCR123's.

I can and do throw it onto the ground, drop it off of scaffolding onto hard floors, and generally beat the crap out of it...and it just WORKS. It has a great floody beam, very useful. Floody throw is about right.

You can use it with or w/o a clip, and w or w/o a tactical ring, etc...very adaptable. I hate clips, but I do use grips that the tactical ring enables.

Its also weapon mountable (Std 1"), and has a nifty pressure switch that can even change the brightness and modes too. The cell chamber is double sprung to absorb recoil impact, and rifle and shotgun use doesn't phase it.

If you don't need a tactical interface/momentary on...Zebralight's SC600 is pretty nice as a wee flooder, 750 lumens on turbo from an 18650...and if you want simple, just don't program it...you have a firefly, medium and turbo as default, with it coming on at what you used last. Its a flood light, not much throw, but at short range it throws a wall of light. I can see ~ 50-60 yards with it. It also has a removable clip, etc.

Zebralight SC600, Eagletac D25C2L or Thrunite TN12 are my favorites, give them a look. I think for size, simplicity, price and output the Eagletac D25C2L fits you the most, it's about the same size as your P3D with a very similar UI but its way brighter with better knurling and can take 18650. If you have to have a forward momentary switch then look at the TN12.

+1 for eagtac d25lc2. Best beam profile out there for the size. Throws remarkably well for the size due to the deep reflector. You have to hold one to know. Some single aa lights are bigger than it!
