Instead of trying to carry an A2, I decided to create a holster-based EDC of LED and incandecent lighting. In this holster from "Ripoffs", a company that caters to the film industry (model CO-73, price $9.89) I have a G2Z with P61 lamp and an ARC LSH. The LSH is in the velcro flap section. The holster has a great metal clip. You can buy it from FilmTools.com. As you can see from the picture (I hope) is that the entire kit is less than 6 inches long.
The ARC is MUCH brighter than the A2's LEDs and the G2Z throws a perfect beam. IMHO, a much better solution. Comments welcome. Enjoy!
Thanks to bhusick, I have purchased two (2) of the CO-73 holsters from "Ripoffs."
I will carry one CO-73 on my belt to the woods.
I'll attach the other to the outside of my Jan Sport survival backpack that I carry in the truck of my vehicle.
I carry a G2 with P61 lamp in the left side loop of the CO-73.
I put two SF123A 3 Volt batteries at the bottom of the pouch.
I place an ARC LSH-P on top of the batteries inside the pouch.
I clip an Infinity Ultra (one AA Akaline battery inside) to the right side of the pouch.
I have 20 minutes of blinding light with the G2 with P61
6 hours of really bright light from the ARC LSH-P, i.e., two hours of light from the SF123A 3 Volt battery in the ARC LSH-P itself, plus four additional hours from the two SF123A 3 Volt batteries stored in the bottom of the pouch.
25 hours of pretty respectible light from the Infinity Ultra (1 AA battery inside the Infinity Ultra) clipped to the outside of the CO-73.
For my needs, this is a pretty good mix.
However, for my EDC I carry a Micro Photon Light on my key chain in my right front pocket, and a Chris Reeves Sabenza, and Infinity Ultra in my left front pocket.
When I mount out to the woods, I just grab my CO-73 pouch, attach it to my belt, and I'm good to go (over 31 hours of good usable light). I realize one could increase the number of hours of run time several different ways, but I just like this particular mix.
I have found over the years working with Boy Scouts in the woods, that the most I would ever use a light in any given night would be about 2 hours. So - based on those needs, with my new CO-73 setup, I would be able to see very well at night for about 15 days/nights with the rig I'm using now.
Thanks Bhusick for the tip about the CO-73 carrier, as I am finding this to be a really good set up. I may even sqeeze some fire & fishing gear into the CO-73 before I am finished.
E2HA + KL1 (Belt)
E2SG + MN03 (Belt)
Arc-LE (Around neck)
Gerber Applegate-Fairbarin Covert folder (Clipped to pocket)
Benchmade Model 735 Axis lock (Belt)
Gerber Guardian (On arm or leg)
M4 Sebertool (Pants pocket)
Permanent match (Pants pocket)
1 or 2 extra AAA batts (Pants pocket)
2 extra 123 batts (Pants pocket)
This is the minimum I carry at all times. If I am wearing a jacket, bigger knives (fixed blade Randall) bigger lights (SureFire 9P, EternaLight Elite Xray), and other innumerable objects.

how many use pocket clips for your flashlights in an EDC?

I carry a SF M2 in my front left pocket, clipped in. Works fine with Dockers, not so well with jeans (the jeans are too tight). BTW, I also use the pocket clip on my knife (right front pocket, clipped in).
It would appear that my EDC is fairly light compared to some of you guys, buy here it goes:
-Arc AAA (On keychain)
-Fisher Space Pen
-Victorinox SAK (Hopefully to be replaced soon by a BM of some sort)
-Blue Minimag with Inretech or G2 with LOLA (Depending on time of day and travel plans. If I plan on going anywhere significant during the nighttime hours I will carry both and a fully loaded SC1)
