Re: EDC - What\'s in Your Pocket(s)??

Light only stuff is
Photon II on key ring (with Traser)
Arc AAA in wallet (and when Eric gets round to sending me my Kydex rig, that'll go on the keys, too)

G2 in coat (M*glite with Opalec conversion in car door)
noname lead acid 500,000cp (ha) in boot (that's a trunk for Americans /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif )

Usually E2e in reach (but I left it in my garage last night)

The non light stuff is extensive but not right for here... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

In my pockets? Nothing...

I carry my ARC LSH-P (with 2 AA adapter) and my Leatherman Super tool on my belt in a RipOff CO-75 holster.

Well I lied a little. I do have a Pulsar II on my key chain.

Re: EDC - What\'s in Your Pocket(s)??

I always carry with me

E2
Photon II
Innova Microlight
Arc LE
Spare 123´s
Swisschamp
Sharpening steel
30ft 100 LB fishing cable

Except the innova and Arc I carry all in a selfmade leather sheath on my belt that is about 5.0 x 2.5 x 1.25" that looks like a cellphone sheath.

Re: EDC - What\'s in Your Pocket(s)??

WoW! guys I didn't expect this kind of enthusiastic respond on this thread here.

Just to give a little more Emphasis

Do any of you differentiate or modify your EDC from the normal out of house EDC - for

(2) at home (or at the weekend) when you may wear different clothes?

or
(3) different but common activity like air travel - where the current heightened security may make you re-consider your normal EDC?

Also checkout the links to a couple of very popular threads on EDCs posted by Beretta - over in the other thread that I posted in the Knives, Multi-tools and other Gadgets section of the Forum - here's the direct link:

EDC - What's in Your Pocket(s)??

and check out the photos too....

Thanks guys.

ARC AAA (new natural finish version) on key ring,

small Spyderco "necklace" knife on key ring.

Microtech Mini Socom in pocket

NAA Guardian in back pocket (I need to protect my arc ;-)).

I wont begin to talk about my car... ;-)

Re: EDC - What\'s in Your Pocket(s)??

Everyday EDC: mini-socom, Ultra G. on keyring, 3AA Opalec in belt holster. Small shoulder bag carries extra batteries, ARC clipped to one inner zipper and LGI.

Overseas travel: no knife, Ultra G. or LGI. Shoulder bag now holds the Opalec, Eternalight, glucose meter and definately more than enough batteries. SOG PowerPliers goes into check-in luggage. However, items are either added or deleted (usually added) depending on where I'm traveling to.

I have a ARC AAAA on my key chain and a Minimag modded with a Mad Max on my belt. Some times a Stylus in my shirt pocket and/or a E1/KL1 in left pant pocket.

Does Size matter??

Does size matter?

Any difference between in-pocket carry vs. keyring vs. pocket-clip vs. belt carry??

From years of carrying pocket knives I find for a
real in-pocket about 3-3.5" length seems about right. If it's much smaller/shorter - although it's "easy"/lighter etc - I find it gets "lost" in the pocket - also smaller doesn't fit the hand that well. I think an easy in-pocket length might have something to do with whether the length of the object can fit/rotate easily to fit the width of the pocket. Hence my choice of the CMG Ultra-G not only because it's a single AA light, but because it fits in my pocket easily and fits my hand in use.

With the advent of the pocket-clip
I found I could carry clipped to the pocket something that's a bit longer - for a knife the overriding length is how well the handle fits my hand and about 4" seems "right-sized" for me even though my pockets can take about 4.5" length and if need be even 5" length with clip. My at home only EDC is the pocket clipped 4" closed length Kershaw/Ken Onion LEEK

keyring - I personally don't like a lot of things on my keyring - so I actually try to avoid carrying anything more than keys on it - but the Photon is so small and so useful - that it's an exception.

belt carry - normally is for something too big for the pocket - again I normally don't like having to have things that don't fit in my pocket - but my EDC Canon S100 Digital ELPH digicam is just too big for an easy pocket ride so it has to ride in a belt pouch........

Re: EDC - What\'s in Your Pocket(s)??

As much as I love my new Inova X5T, my EDC (not walking the dog at night) would have to be the dual-LED keychain light from Sharper Image:

Sharper Image-Dual LED keychain

I don't like 98% or more of what they sell, but at least they sell LED lights...which is really great when you are given a gift certificate for SI.

Re: EDC - What\'s in Your Pocket(s)??

ArcAAA with Cold Steel TuffLite in my left front jean pocket
Surefire E1e+KL1 inside the rucksack.

I'm proud that I have a light anytime, anywhere.
The subway fire incident in Korea sadden me that those people had no flashlights with them when the power cut off

Photon 2 white on keychain. Inova Microlight red clipped to one of those little swiss army knives in pocket. When going out of the house: If wearing a jacket, E2-GM with YC's custom clickie switch in jacket pocket. If no jacket, Streamlight Scorpion in belt sheath.

Re: EDC - What\'s in Your Pocket(s)??

On a typical work day, I carry:

- Arc LSH-P
- Sony Ericsson T68i
- Kershaw "Ken Onion" Boa
- Leatherman Juice Kf4
- Blistex (mint /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif )
- Kleenex Pocket Pack
- wallet
- breakfast (banana, orange, etc)

Non-work days are about the same, but I typically replace the Juice Kf4 with a Squirt P4.
