El cap head change?

I remember reading something about a new optic for the El Capitan, but nothing about the head diameter changing. Now I've heard that the head is a larger diameter (larger than the body diameter).

Does anyone have details or pictures?

I don't recall hearing of any body changes in the El Cap. Perhaps the diameter issue related to the coming Volcan which will use the Logan sized head and also take an AA or 14500 like the El Cap.

There's the original medium optic and a somewhat newer, but not really new, new narrow which is the same size. Not sure if there's anything else more recent.

I have an El Cap with a medium optic and a narrow optic. The narrow optic head is larger in diameter than the medium. I'm thinking that what they did was use the Logan head and mill the threads to fit the El Cap.
