Size comparison.
Fenix L0D CE, Fenix L1T, Chopped Minimak 14500, Elektrolumens Lucidus XR-1, Elektrolumens My Little Friend.

Beamshots:
EDIT I did the beamshots with the battery that Wayne shipped with the light. When I checked later the voltage was 3.54V. As the light is DD I expect a fully charged battery will produce much brighter light.

Now the BAD NEWS:
I got this e mail from Wayne:
I kept the chopped Minimag that I made for you, to continue to test it.
It seems to test out fine. But the other day I dropped it and now it does not work. I'm assuming it dropped on the head and damaged the LED. It seems a bit fragile. I will not be selling these, as I think they will be getting damaged by dropping, or people will fiddle with the exposed LED, etc.

Wayne

All is not lost however.

I love this size light. When I get all caught up with the backlog of work, I will make a small 1AA size flashlight, to use the 14500 Li-Ion battery. This size for brightness is fantastic.. I will probably make a limited number available for others to purchase.

The chopped Minimag is a bit fragile for me to feel comfortable with marketing it. I might make another one, just for myself, until I have time to design one of my own design.

I charged up the batteries and compared the Minimak with the L0D CE / 10440 again. The Minimak is much brighter with freshly charged batteries. Also runs hot but not as hot as the L0D on 10440.
Minimak 14500 left, L0D CE 10440 right.

I think it is the OEM version of the Nite-ize single stage clicky. Same switch as in the Lucidus series.
It was catching on my AAA minimag holster so I swapped in the Kroll from my other minimag (boosted SMJLED, now feels very dim).
All switches that fit the incandescent minimag except the Nite-ize IQ should work.

The Minimak does not tailstand. I am using the head of my other minimag as per mag's 'candle mode' instructions to make it stand up for the shot.

Why dont you compare it to something similar..A LOD (P3? 35lumens or???) on a Nimh battery, isnt really a match for a 14500.

Try comparing it to a P2D Q5..would the minimak even be visible next to a P2D Q5 on turbo:thinking: :crackup:

On post #2 after I charged the 14500 battery the L0D CE is also on a freshly charged 10440 giving 140 lumens. And where did you get 35 lumens for a L0D CE? Flashlight reviews measured 46.

Anyways If I need more light I got my Little Friend 3xSSC P4 500 LED lumens. And the Minimak is visible against that (post #1 last picture).

My poor photography does not show the really good point of the Fraen optic in the Minimak. The spill while dimmer than from a reflector is wide ~120 degrees. So close in I can see to the sides as well as in front of me. Really useful indoors.

Not buying a P2D Q5. Saving my money for the Shadeslayer 7. 1280 lumens. Even then I am not sure they will let me in the Big Guns Club (Weenies need not apply).

Hey just making a little fun...

I didnt know the exact lumens for the P3..

Its a cool little mag you got there ;)
