UPS delivered my QuadStar Phazer today! Thanks, Wayne. Warning - do not aim at face or drop on foot. This puppy is heavy. The battery tube wall is 3mm thick. The light is listed as 15 ounces empty. With 3 NiMH C batteries installed it feels very robust. I don't know how to post pictures, but if you want to see the flashlight, go to Illumination Forums, scroll down to Elektro Lumens Forums, which is white lettering on a blue background and click on that. This thing has four Seoul emitters and really lights up a room. Outdoors it's a great floodlight. I wouldn't leave it in my vehicle's glove compartment for fear of it getting stolen, but it would fit because it's only 8 inches long. Well, time for me to light up the front of the abandoned house across the street. Hopefully, others will be receiving their Phazers soon and will report in. I was one of the first to get my order in.

My QSP arrived a few days ago.
One word describes it: fantastic!

First off, the very good machining and anodising are apparent. Very nice laser engraving; adds a touch of class, the 'collectors edition' + serial number. Good, smooth threads, fit and finish. The fins have come out very nice.

The light is really solid as a rock. By far the heaviest handheld 'normal' light I own. I guess I won't have to worry about heat sinking there

. With the (freshly charged) C-cells, balance is very good, though. The 3 cell setup is a winner; it fits into my coat pocket.

O.K., time to turn the switch: ... blam!

The beam is more floody than I expected. But the sheer wall of light is so amazingly bright, that it is very impressive. I did a short white wall comparison with my DeCree, and immediately thought de DeCree's battery must be near depletion (I charged it recently, though). So I compared it with my second DeCree, and they were both as bright as they should be (which is the brightest single Cree I 've seen so far). The QSP just overwhelms the beams of all my other lights, including my Ultrafire G12 (estimated at 200 Lumen, and suddenly looking very weak and a sickly yellow).

The beam profile is that of a very broad, floody beam. From the very bright centre, the light gradually just tapers off into an enormous spillbeam. No defined centre spot with a much weaker spill, but one wall of light, with a very bright centre. Very useful for the use I have for it.

The colour is glorious, very, very white. Whiter than any light I own. Absolutely no hint of cream, blue or green.

I took it for a spin by bike, in the woods. It feels like I've my car headlight with me, except for that kind of throw. It lights up an area the size of a small soccer field. Hardly any warming on the outside after 10 minutes. I can't really give a sustained Lumen figure, but my guesstimate is in the region of 700+.

So, did I mention I like the light?

And before anyone asks: no, sorry, I can't do beamshots

Re: Elektrolumens Quadstar Phaser: my goodness!

I will merge this with another thread in the 'Reviews' section.

Here are some images. I think you can figure out which outdoor shot is the Quadstar Phazer and which is the XTAR CREE P4.

Both are nice lights. I think the maroon (red) tailcap is a nice touch. Of course the angle of the tailcap shot makes the Phazer look fat. Inova X1 is next to it.

It looks to be a great light. Has anyone compared it to the MT-3? I would be interested in knowing the difference.

I have an MT-3 and I like it quite a bit; I especially like the idea of the better runtime due to the larger batteries.

Thanks for the time you took in writing this up!
