Emisar D3AA opinions?

Since the Wurkkos TS10 series has been discontinued,
makes me wonder what its Replacement will be ?
I dont expect Wurkkos to produce any more Anduril lights

Emisar lights supersede Wurkkos.

Emisar not only offers AA/14500 Anduril, they offer excellent LED options.

the AA/14500 versions of Anduril are the D3AA and the upcoming KR1AA, which uses the same driver as the D3AA.

the D3AA driver is the Only AA/14500 Anduril driver in the known Universe. ;-)

You are bumming me out, Jon! I just ordered the TS10, and now I feel like I got on the wrong bus when I should have waited a few more minutes for the right bus to come along (the bus labeled "KR1AA" that is).
So, it may have been an unwise expenditure of $20.
Oh well, it will not be the first time that I got a flashlight that was soon superseded by a better flashlight.

I dont think that is necessarily true.. but if you hate it I will consider buying from you.

You got a really tiny Anduril light, with a great form factor, a tailswitch, and your TS10SG is an outstanding little thrower. And it comes w a USB-C battery that imo justifies half the price.

The TS10SG SFT-25 LED is an industry standout for throw, and it wont melt on Turbo ;-)

It also throws great at modest outputs that dont trigger thermal step down.. I recommend against using Turbo anyway, because the output is not thermally sustainable.

Emisar lights cost double what you paid. and offer excellent High CRI LEDs.. but Im not fond of the D3AA form factor.

for a more detailed Info Dump regarding TS10 models and their firmware, this post goes into great detail. That post is probably overwhelmingly detailed for normal people.

No, it sets a certain expectation of what is to come, lol. I had the d3aa, still ordered the ts10, and still ordered another d3aa. I even ordered a dw3aa, which was a little too cumbersome so I passed that one along, and the recipient likes it. Now, the long wait for the kr1aa...

**cue dramatic orchestral music, as a guy sits on a boulder in a hilly, grassy field, lost in thought with a thousand yard stare, and a slow pan out and up into a mountainous sunset.

Not sure which part of the Universe you hail from, but next time you are near the Milky Way and willing to boldly go where no one has gone before, I can beam you up to my Galactic Headquarters and demonstrate the antique "Sofirn SP10 Pro" Phaser using the highly illogical Anduril-2 with AA or 14500 warp core power sources.

Live long and prosper. ;-)

QUESTION for recent Emisar D3AA users --

Recently purchased from Jackson Lee (Hawaii)
a lovely new D3AA light, with a Rose Gold
(stainless steel) pocket clip.

As I installed the clip, it INSTANTLY broke !
Snapped as if it was Brittle.

Jackson promptly sent me a Replacement clip
which arrived today.

And, wouldn't you know, it ALSO immediately
broke as I installed it ! :(:awman:

He mentioned to me that Nobody Else had
experienced such an issue with the clips.

Wondering if this is a New Batch ?

Cuz' when I compare them to the clip on my
previous D3AA (purchased in April from Hank),
these new ones appear to have a "notch"
which is exactly where it Breaks !

Anyone Else encounter this problem ?

(here's a crappy cellphone photo I took of the broken ones)

Without any experience with the newer clips, I can't be of more help. It looks like they both snapped at around the same point...but from the pictures, the grain doesn't look too inclusive...

thanks for the heads up and pics of the notches,

my new black short clip for D3AA has the same notches
(arrived yesterday from Hank)

I just installed it w some plastic tubing on the arms
it did not break

I pulled the clip off with a plastic tool, still no break
I tried to break it on purpose.. by pinching the arms w my bare fingers, (not very hard pressure), and by spreading the arms w my fingers, still no break

then I used the plastic tool to press between the arms, the tool handle is wider than the curve of the arms, I used more pressure to try to break the clip, still no break:

sorry for your broken clips

Maybe something to do with the coating process is making the steel brittle? That type of spring steel should be VERY resistant to snapping, so it's very odd. Maybe get Jackson to test fit a clip a few times before sending it

Got my TS10 today. Not bad! As a TIR-hater, I have to say that the beam is very close to what I want from an LOP reflector. And the size is *amazing* -- so small. I love that a lot.

It took me a while to turn off the "Post-off voltage display" -- every time I would turn the light off, I would get an annoying light-show. But I worked it out in time. Now I have my aux set for red on low-level.

Hmmm....Now I'll have to carry it for a few days to see whether it earns a place in my load-out. I love the size, the finish, and molding of the body. No extra fat or chunkiness.

But given that it won't run on AA's or AAA's, it does not really replace my trusty H53w. In fact, it's more like having a small, bright, 16340 light -- and some of those can be extremely small, too. 16340s can be good! But they will never be my life-companion, don't-leave-home-without-it light, because they don't run on the batteries that are available out there.
Maybe I'll have to buy the KR1AA when that comes out.... At least, I will be looking forward to reading reports about it.
