Eneloop Issues in a Fenix E05

I'm a first time poster having an issue using my aaa Eneloops in my new (well, 2014 edition!) Fenix E05 where I'll have the light on in the 8 lumen mode for an hour or so, but it'll then just conk out. It doesn't seem to get hot at all, and if I put another battery in it'll light back up. Both eneloops I have used seem to be working fine as I can switch between them in this way, although when the light shuts off I can't use the battery within it for a while. I'd have thought that if it was an issue with the light it would shut off regardless of which battery is within it, but I'm not certain. What gives?!

Did you measure the voltage of the eneloops? It sort of sounds like they need charging as alkaleaks do similar in use when the batteries are depleted if both are discharged then they may barely have enough power.
