Energizer battery charger by USB.

The first Thinkgeek charger is much bigger than the Energizer USB charger, and the second one only charges itself, not standard AAA or AA cells. They each have their niche, but they don't fill mine.

This isn't a junk, if you read the instructions manual it actually has the ability to detect a bad rechargeable. Plus it probably has a delta -V cut off circuit. The bottom part of the manual says that "the battery will not be damaged if left in the charger for longer time".

From the timetable, the charging current for TWO AA cells is about 500mA. Which is near the limit of a standard USB port. This is all very much depending on whether the laptop you have supplies enough current. Otherwise it will take a longer time to charge up.

In all, pretty sweet little charger. Whether it will take only 1 cell at a time is unknown but I doubt it has independent charging circuitry for each slots.
