Hello All! I did a search but found nothing on these batteries, just wandered if anyone had any experience with them before I order a couple for my Fenix lights???

Ok thanks, I prefer to stay with Fenix batts anyways but these was way cheaper. And I just saw they are not protected

I have no experience with Fenix products and there are pros and cons of protected vs. unprotected batteries, a lot of it depending on application and user. battery university.com would provide a lot of information if you're interested.

I have had Fenix products for the last 20 years, they have served me well! And thanks I'll check that out

Like I said I've only used the Fenix batteries, if you don't mind me asking what brands are worth me looking into, Tks in advance.

Orbtronic and Keeppower are higher end batteries I have been happy with. Both brands have been recommended a lot on this site. Most of their offerings are protected. I wouldn't shy away from trying Epoch though if you're comfortable using unprotected cells.

I'd stick with Fenix, Nitecore, and Orbtronic for protected cells. Klarus and Olight have too many proprietary cells to avoid in 21700. For unprotected, everyone seems to like Samsung 40T (4 amp) for high drain and Samsung 50E (5 amp) for high capacity. They do last, but I think there are better options. I prefer Molicel P42A (4.2 amp, 45 amp high drain, and cold weather rated) or Molicel P45B (4.5 amp, 45 amp high drain, and cold weather rated); or Samsung 50S (5 amp, 25 amp high drain). Remember if you buy protected cells, you are paying extra for safety and insurance against ruining your batteries. Go cheap on protected cells and the protection might not even work.

I know all about the protective cells and definitely feel more comfortable using them but also have used unprotected also. I think Im going to order just 2 of the Epoch and see what their about!! Got 2 new light's coming for Christmas, HT18, and the PD36PRO!!!! Can't wait!!

I've got (4) of the epoch protected 18650 cells. they are working well. the build quality appears top shelf. am running them in a malkoff hound dog.

Tks, good to know! I've always just stayed with Fenix but now I'm accumulating more of there lights a few more spares seems like a good idea! That's why I am expanding my battery reserves. I'm just now finding out what other power sources are out there but do not want to waste my money, so Tks again

Just wanted to say I received some of the keeppower 21700 protected cells I ordered, I am impressed with shipping time and battery's. So far they are right in line with my Fenix cells. Now gonna try out the epoch button cell non protected, Merry Christmas y'all and Tks for the input!!

Often the cell being rewrapped is stated.
That said unless on sale its best to buy the raw cell of your choice if going unprotected.
Rewrapping just adds cost.

I'm going start out with just 2 of the non-protected epoch for test run, they are listed at 8.25 each, but more than likely I'll stay with Fenix and maybe more of the Keep Power protected ones. I'm going to run the KP's a few more cycles when a get my HT18 tomorrow!!
