I have a few questions about the triad tails:

  • Can I pay you now to pre-order/reserve one of the these?
  • Is there any chance you will make a run of these in copper?
  • Can they be made to withstand high current draw, for say a 4 x XPG2 module?

Per the OR FAQ:

Why don't you accept deposits/prepayments?

Deposits sound like a very easy and effective idea. Accept money for something before its ready to ship, invest the money into the product, then deliver first to those willing to take the risk early. If life were predictable, this would work well. But the world is full of unknowns and surprises. Production delays, quality variances, cost overruns, design changes.

All deposits do is trade the uncertainty of missing out for the uncertainty of delays and lost money. CPF history is littered with builders who took customer money and ended up not delivering finished product. They are seldom heard from again.

All OR/TL items are provided on a first come, first serve basis. If something goes wrong during production, we alone bear the risk, hassle, and expense. For the best shot at new items, please subscribe to our email list.

regarding your other questions:

2. We do not have a copper run planned. We know you guys like the different metals, but they are a lot of work to do well. When we make more of these in aluminum, we will consider other metals.

3. Yes, the Zero Rez components fit into all of our tailcaps and can handle anything you can put into a flashlight.

Been waiting to order a Triad for so long... it's probably going to be one of my only major light related purchase for most of this year, but I jumped on it the second I saw the Insider hit my inbox! Can't wait to get it!! :)


Edit: It arrived and I LOVE IT. I can finally have a P60 18350 setup comfortably clipped to my pocket.

Will black pocket clips be an option on the Triads? If so how soon? I thought I saw something about them .....but could be wishful thinking.
