the eternalight xray looks really neat. but is it durable enough to survive a few drops? I think it would be great for hiking because if i have the light off and drop it somewhere it would be much easier to find. i already have a arc light, infinity, plw-3 and the brinkman light so would this be a worthwhile buy? I'm thinking of buying one of these or waiting for a arc-ls. who knows maybe I will get both.

I wouldn't want to stomp on it with all ya got, but it should survive falls from chest or head-high onto mixed media (dirt, loose gravel, glacial till, vegetation, forest floor, etc.) with no problems whatsoever.
There's a slight *chance* that an LED could crack or break if it hits something hard just so, but that chance is fairly minor... and even if it did, the damaged LED would most likely still work.
Loading it with lithium batteries will substantially decrease its density, and further reduce any chance of breakage.
