I thought most flashaholics would have a spare extension tube for thier surefires, solarforce, spiderfire's etc etc. and though it must be simple to make two end caps one with a lanyard hole. has any one done this...

solarforce extension tubes are around £5 delivered from HK. if the end caps could be made well enough for cheap enough they would make a nice battery holder .

what do you guys think :duh2:

Some manufacturers (HDS, 4Sevens for the Quark line, etc) offer or have offered end caps for their tubes and this purpose.

I've always figured if I have enough room to carry something that size, why not just carry another light?

Good point. But depending on the light, it can also give you some added flexibility.

Case in point: I keep my Quark AA Tactical in my briefcase, loaded with a 14500. I also bought a AA² body, which came with those caps; I keep a coupla extra 14500 cells in the tube, and if THREE 14500s aren't enough, I have the option of getting full performance outta 2 x whatever alkaline AAs I can scrounge. Works for me.
