I've got an Extreme III on the way. I was only going to feed it alkalines or NiMH,
but I know it will also run on unprotected 10440. Will the light properly handle Li-Ions without losing levels, going into direct drive, overheating, etc? All I know is that it's programmable for low voltage cutoff.
Any info much appreciated...

Hi Cadster,

Have had an Extreme III for several days now and have used AAA alkalines, eneloops and 10440 (AW).

All fit and run without any issues. Brightness is noticeable with 10440, however, it is still very bright and usable with "normal' batteries.

Actually have used with the candle mode diffuser, more than any other

Thanks jeffb.
Your info is much appreciated, and Happy New Year to you!

I fired over PP for one as well.... Pretty excited about this as I am a big fan of the LF UI.
