In fact it was not failed at beginning... I tryed converting a Mag-LED 2D module with a Cree XR-E. Removed the led, glued the Cree with a square cut from a penny to raise it, soldered 2 wires on the electronic module, soldered the wires to the Cree. IT WORKS WOW! NOW... The bad event. The positive wire disconnect itself from the LED after a small shock (poor soldering - by the way, Cree LEDs are very difficult to solder by hand!). HORROR! It probably fried the electronic... I was right, soldered again the wire and... no light! Awwwwwww!! Now I'm stuck with a Cree LED glued on a Mag-LED PR base with no electronic inside. I also have a spare Luxeon 3 still in working condition. What can I do with that? Is there anyone willing to give me a Mag-LED 2D electronic module? ;)

Thanks

Re: Failed Mag-LED mod... What can I do now?

Would I be correct in thinking all of the electronics in the Mag 2D LED are inside the bulb assembly (which is a drop in)?

Yes you are correct. Why?

If I were you, I'd yank the cree back off, or open it up, put a resistor for 3Cell operation.
