It's available od DX for $74,10. Product number is 47173. Reviews say it produces decent abount of light and have massive throw.

I only have 1 dedicated thrower at this early point in my flashlight collecting career. It is the Streamlight Super Tac. I'm surprised I haven't read more about this light. It seems to be over-looked by many people.

I did a little throw distance test the other night in an empty 10-acre field surrounded by very tall fir trees. According to the distance feature on Google Earth, the field is approximately 150 yards wide and 350 yards long. The tops of the fir trees at 150 yards are easily lit up by the Super Tac, with a nice bright 8 foot circle of light. When I aimed it at the tree tops 350 yards away, you could easily follow the tight beam almost all the way to the tree tops, but it didn't really light the trees up at all. On a pitch black night, I'd say the reasonable performance limit of the Super Tac is around 300 yards, and under 200 yards, it's very impressive.

This test was far from scientific, but it made me a believer in this light. For $75 at local sporting goods stores, the Super Tac is definitely worth a look.

Agreed!

The SuperTac is a superb thrower at a very, very reasonable price

Hello Guys,

I am gonna trade my TK-45 with a M2XC4. 🙂 I will let you guys know how that goes.

Also, I bought a Trustfire TR-1200 from Bestofferbuy and it is incredibly bright! No weak driver issues as mentioned like the ones from DX.

It has considerable less output, but is focused much better, i.e. has much more throw.
I did include both in my last big light beamshot, here at 160 meters:

Yay! That means I can expect the throw to be slightly greater right? Isn't the cool tint rated at 800 lumen and it uses R2s and the neutral tint uses 3 Q3orQ4 rated at 665 Lumens? I read this somewhere on the forum.

Just got my MPP1 head from itp shop on ebay...WOW! :faint: The build quality is great and I can't wait for tonight to try it out. A couple notes:

1: the lens it came with was quite smudged up and seemed foggy. I put a UCL lens in and the difference was noticeable. Just a thought if you're willing to spend a couple extra bucks on a glass lens, same size as a mag lens (52mm I think)

2: The fins and machining looks great. Everything is smooth and the threads match up excellently with my solarforce host.

3. I got a slip of paper with my order that directed me to ITC's new storefront. I'm not sure if I can post the direct link here, but just google solarforce sales. I paid $54 for the head alone, they have the head for $46.75 with a free body and switch. They have some pretty good into prices for the time being. I think I may put in an order for a few accessories and maybe another body...just a heads up!

I seen the offer yesterday too, and could't resist, my MPP head is now even shipped

Have you tried it with 2 RCR123?

Its too good a deal to pass up! I took this thing out last night near my girlfriends house...pitch black for a couple miles :naughty: An easy 250-300 yard thrower, stuff further out was getting hit but my eyes have a hard time at that range! I was at the top of the driveway messing around with the light and she was 50 yards away at the bottom. From there, she could see the spot on the clouds! I didn't believe it until I saw it myself, it was clear as day!

The UCL lens is available here:

If I'm not mistaken its a 52.1x2.84 (same size as the Mag lens). Hopefully someone else can chime in and confirm that.

I have tried it with 2 RCR123's, as well as with 2 18650's. I must say that I like the length of 1 18650 (2 RCR123) better, but the runtime/output combo on 2 18650's is unbeatable. I would guess a solid 45 minutes to an hour on the RCR123's, but I haven't had enough time to get any solid numbers yet. There are some runtime graphs around here somewhere.

I think I will really like this light!

I will wait for someone else to chime in to confirm the size of the lens needed before I order.

It is a strange freebie that they throw in, it would make more sense including a body which can fit the head. But a freebie is a freebie! 🙂

My order status on their site states 'success' not sure if that means it has been posted yet.

Did some checking around, the Mag lens is 52.1x1.90. The one listed on the site now is slightly thicker and wont allow the bezel to screw down completely. They seem to be out of stock of the one you need:

You could try a borofloat lens if you don't want to wait for them to get the other back in stock. Something like 5% less transmittance compared to the UCL. Maybe email them and see when it will we back in stock.
