One possibility is to use this circuit to obtain high-current capability with the original switch. Another, more costly, is to install a Lightbulb Voltage Regulator.

Hey, that is great... but I would be even more interested if you could build your high current switch into the lamp holder leaving me 2 wires to solder to the switch. Of course I would be willing to pay more for this functionality, but tell me how much... Oh yeah, PM sent.
