Fenix,

Can you please make a one-stage HIGH LOD CE? I'd like 3 of them please.

I want to get them for my wife and some "girl" friends for their keychains.

They don't want to have to remember to keep switching it on and off to get to the HIGH level. They don't want a low level to preserve their night vision. They don't want something that is complicated (to a non-flashaholic) just because it can be!

All they need is the highest possible output for dark evenings. Hell, they probably don't even care about runtime. I'll give them a couple AAAA Energiser Lithiums with it so they don't even have to worry about batteries for god knows how long.

They just want a light that is instantly super-bright for the twenty seconds or so at a time that they need it. They just want it easy and simple.

Any chance in the near future, perhaps?

Thanks,

Face.

No i cant make you a one-stage L0D CE...

Is the L1D CE too big for them, on that one you can just turn it to turbo mode and leave it there and they get the 90 lumen setting instantly?

I think that it even would be able to disable the normal mode on the L1D CE just by shorting the copper track to the the threads in the head... (but i havent tried)

Ordered a LOD CE the other day. Id rather have a low and high and nothing else. Maybe around 5-10 lumens for low and 60+ lumens on high. A low setting is very useful.

I just sold my L0P with Seoul P4-U. The recipient seemed extra enthused. Now I think I know why.

I just have to chime in on this. I have been shopping for a CREE or Seoul P4-type light myself and everything has too many levels and modes. I just need a flashlight. Two levels is a great thing, which is why I love my L2T, L1T and SF L1 but five and six levels/modes is not what I need and not what I want. One level would be great. Two would be better but only if the switching allows me to start up in "high" or "low" like the Fenix lights. Fenix is putting one heck of a great light out there at very good prices but, if I have to buy a light with more than two levels, I will have to make do with my Lux IIIs. Call me a Luddite but, for me, simpler is better - not just for wives and "girl" friends.

Jeff

Seoul modded L0P seems like the way to go. I see some usefulness of a low level in a light this small but I agree that more than two levels, and the silly blink modes, are needless and confusing for many users.

I think you should wait for the Surefire L1 - it's going to be 'High with 1-click', and the quality will be Subperb! (*he says with an Italian accent*

No way! That would be so sweet! I love my Fenix's but when it's, well, 9 degrees F right now, they are hard to use with gloves. There's a CREE L1 coming?

Have you tried the L1T, just keep the head in the high mode position

I have, with a 1xCR123 body and I love it.
Wanting a CREE-based light too now.

I'm basically lazy. I don't want to twist and push and then wait x number of seconds to push and twist some more. My L1P is used often at work for 5 to 10 seconds at a time. Frequently, my hands are full and I don't want to take the time to put everything down and play with a flashlight. Plus, for those that use new multi stage lights in dark environments, what is the best light to carry to illuminate the new light while you are figuring out the levels?

...although the price will be a sobering experience...(*also said with an Italian accent*)

Isn't the new lumapower m3 going to come with customisable settings? I vaguely read somewhere that you can order an M3 like you order a Honda ... a la carte.

So, theoretically you could order a flashlight with it set on high automatically.

I'm sure there are other flashlights in the EDC form that can accomodate this.

I certainly understand the need as i'd like my wife to have a simple but powerful one stage flashlight for the keychain for dark, going-to-the-car situations in a parking lot or from work etc. Just having a powerful flashlight can make a situation potentially safer.

Agree with others. Let´s see, something like this would be a fantastic, reliable and easy EDC light:

-AA fed
-Cree powered
-Textured reflector
-Clickie
-Rotating head to switch levels (2)
-Low level: 5-10 lumens (runtime almost forever)
-High level: 60-90 lumens (not much more is needed for civilian uses)

Fenix, do the KISS thing and cash in!

I totally agree with the 2 stage Cree request.
Simpler is better.

Yes, please make a L0D-CE that starts on a higher HIGH/MAX! This will bypass the PWM flickering for most users, and also increases the L0D-CE's usefulness as a "tactical" light. Surefire markets 60 lumen lights as tactical, so the L0D-CE should be able to be used to temporarily blind if close enough. That is, assuming the poor user doesn't have to cycle through primary->low->high :)

Having a low Low mode and those other modes would be nice, but please put high FIRST in the cycle.

Bad guy: "Hey little lady... nice outfit!"
Girl in the wrong place: "Don't you come near me!" <No one is around to help, so she pulls out L0D-CE, aims at bad guy and attempts to twist light three times to get the damn thing on high>
Bad guy, confused, night vision now adapted to light thanks to primary and low, and not blind: "Uh, what are you doing? Why did you just flash your light at me three times? Give me that purse!"

Truer words have never been spoken. I'm guessing it will be on par with, possibly slightly more than an L4.

I've got the LOD CE, and if you think it is anywhere close to 60 lumens, I've got some land (under water) in Florida I can sell you.

Love the light, and My L1D CE, but the advertised lumens are fiction.
