fenix l1d on 14500s

before i pull the trigger on this light, remind me why i'm doing it.
it's the new l1d q5/p2d q5 combo kit from fenix

i've never been one for 123 cell lights, but i have four rcr's that came with solar force (only 600mah but they are the right form) and solarforce is broke so that frees up those cells.

also i've been wanting to have a fenix l1d, but 90-120 lumens just doesn't cut it for me. a single aa light, even the brightest practical one, isn't enough. so of course i'm gonna run it on 14500s. will that net me the same 180 lumens that the 123 primary cells or the rcr123s would?

also, how does it compare to the mte seoul if both are running on aa's?
i assume it's a tick brighter?

You could use the RCR123s in conjunction with the P2D body. It would be shorter too. Since the driver doesn't regulate till the voltage is under 3.2v, with a RCR123 battery you will get more then 180 lumen at the emitter. But you also loose the lower modes.

If comparing with the MTE Seoul 1AA, the L1D-CE Q5 on high with a normal AA should be brighter. With a 3.7v battery, should be even brighter.

the batteries i have are 3.0 volt, 600mah

i guess that will give me all the modes?
what kind of runtime on high?

would 14500s lose the modes but give me better runtime on high?

maybe i'll sell the l2d q5?

the l1d on 14500 is just as bright but lose the modes right?

btw: If you don't need the other accessories in the kit perhaps you should just buy the L1D & P2D bodies from the fenix-store and use them with the head and switch from your L2D?

too late, i pulled the trigger on it already.
besides i don't want to spend $40 on bodies. the p2d body i think i'll play around with for a min and then sell.
just for kicks to see if i like that size as an edc.
i've only ever used aa and aaa.
the l1d body will be used exclusively with 14500s!
