What would you choose?

Totally... if they could send you one, they WOULD! I understand the anticipation to get your D10, but SHEESH... given the circumstances, you're just going to have to GET patient and wait until 4Sevens has the light to send to you!. 😉 (It WILL be worth your time.)

When you receive your D10, clean it thoroughly, lube it appropriately, and spend the required time to get to f-e-e-l the necessary pressure (it is serious pressure that is needed!!!) on the switch button for reliable, positive response, only THEN will you will understand the amazing supremacy of the D10! It's a seriously supreme flashlight (that does require serious switch pressure to operate reliably).

As for Fenix flashlights... no doubt they have niches where they excel. But NO Fenix has a seriously l-o-w low. And none of them have a ramp feature. And none of them operate with Li-Ion rechargeables. Until they do, I don't have any need for a Fenix, personally. I think you'll find that the D10 with a 14500 Li-Ion or a NiMH AA is "**** 'n' ***". 😉

Well yeah, but the OP said no lithiums..
One thing i like with my LD10 is that i know the runtime when i light it.
With ramping, how can you tell the runtime?
You are right, with Fenix the lack of 1-3lum low really sucks.

Yes I do know that I should work on being more patient...:banghead: lol But how long does an average back order take?

What do you guys use to lube up this monster? And where should I buy it? Is that all it needs is lubing?

CaNo.. one thing, you can call 4Sevens and talk to them to get answers to your delivery questions.

Second, if you do a little search on this forum you will find huge amounts of information that D10 users have already written about "breaking-in" the D10. I spent a couple of days reading about the D10 here while waiting for mine (which was in stock and shipped right away). There is a lot of interesting info and feedback to read.

Lastly, Nyogel lube (you can search on this as well) is a top choice for flashlights.

I did what you said and I called them, but they are closed. I guess I will try again tomorrow. But i will look into that nyogel and those threads you mentioned while I am waiting for them to get their shipment.

Based on the poll's statistics... For every 1 person that votes for the Fenix L1D Q5, there are 2 people voting for the Nitecore D10...

The Fenix cannot seem to break the 50 percentile! Interesting... I guess people really have no need for the Strobe and SOS function that Fenix offers, and they prefer the Nitecore's tactical light function (Hold clicky for light, release to turn off)...

LOL Finally my Nitecore D10 R2 got shipped today...:twothumbs
Is lubing absolutely necessary with the D10?

Yep !

Best combo for me is the P2D body on the LD10 head, it's as bright as the PD30 in turbo and as low as the P2D in low.

P2D with LD10 head is just same as PD20 with P2D body, lego ftw...!
PD30 is 220lum, PD20 180lum so there is difference.

Why not buy a Fenix PD20 with a smooth reflector, you could use L1D body with it, or PD20 body for 180 bulb lumens.

Let me say it again but slightly different then....

My PD2 body on the LD10 head on Turbo is as BRIGHT AS MY PD30 (PD30 pulls 500ma @ 8.4volts freshly charged) .

PD20 vs. PD30
That is very nice, or not, it depends...
If PD20 output is 180 lumens, and PD30 is 220 lumens, is your LD10 head with P2D body really bright(220 lumens), or is your PD30 only 180 lumens?

I made a thread called "PD30 amp draw" but it no longer works when you click on it, i was trying to determine if the PD30 was producing only around 180 or the PD2/LD10 combo was producing 220 lumens.

My conclusion is the PD30 is only producing around 200 llumens, the TK10 seems to be around the stated 220 lumens mark the PD30 seems more like 190 - 200, the LD10/PD2 also appears around 190 - 200 which is why i was trying to find out more about the PD30.... until the thread died.

Now it's either the PD2+LD10 = higher than 180 claimed
or
PD30 is not the claimed 220 and more like 200.

So i'm not sure which is over and which is under, the TK10 however seems correct.

How about getting lightbox readings to back you up, amp draw does not tell you the brightness.

Sry for going offtopic...

No actually this is quite an interesting discussion. Im actually interested in the outcome. Let us know your results if you decide to do the lightbox test.
