Fenix L2D questions

Hi,

I've had a L2T (original not the v2) for some time now and love this little light. Now I see these new brighter models and have to get one, just can't decide which one to get. It's either going to be the L2D Black Premium Q5 or the L2D RB100 Black Premium 100.

Aside from the slight difference in lumens, is one really better then the other?

Do they ship with smooth or textured reflectors? Or can you choose when ordering? Doesn't specify at the Fenix store site.

I'm more interested in throw distance than smoothing out the bright spot, so if there is a choice, should I choose the smooth reflector?

I received an L2D Q5 today, and it has a lightly textured reflector. Though I have not played with it yet (except in a darkened basement), I expect it to be rather bright as my P1D Q5 is awesome.

A smooth reflector might give you just a slight bit more throw, but my reflector is so lightly textured that I suspect the difference would be minimal.

As for Q5 vs. Rebel I cannot advise, though I also bet that you would not be able to discern much if any difference between the two. I do think you would be happy if you went with the Q5.

I have spent $475 on Fenix lights in the past 18 months, btw. Just warning you. :nana:

My L2D RB100 is textured. As for throw, from my dining room window, it will illuminate the railroad crossing reflectors a block away (hardly scientific).
