I purchased a Fenix L2T about 8 months ago for my job and it has served me well. I keep it on my belt and its small size keeps it out of my way, but its bright enough to see everything I need to. I work on arcade machines and rides so its a good light for getting inside small spaces and illuminating everything well, especially with the two brightnesses, but its not so small I lose it like some of their lights. Recently it has started to become a huge pain though because it just wont light. about 4 months ago I lost high/low. When i untwist it from the tight position it would just shut off even after cleaning and such. Then recently it wouldnt come on when I turn it on, so Id have to tap it. And now it's just a huge ordeal to get it to come on at all. The nice guy at the Fenix Store offered to replace the head, even though I didn't get it from there, and this brings me to my next question. I am looking for another light that fits the same qualifications that might be a little bit more sturdy (I do tend to beat the crap out of this thing). Fenix preferrably because I really like the light, but anything really. I have made many comparisons online but it's not quite the same as a real persons opinion.

Thanks,
Dustin

L2D - seems like a sturdier head than L2T. My L2T also stopped working after about 6 months. I split it open and put a cree plus a new driver board in it. It would have been much cheaper (and a little brighter) to have just bought the L2D.

If you tend to beat your lights, I'd recommend a Surefire, HDS, Streamlight or any of the more expensive lights. More expensive but toughness is undoubted. The new L1/2D-CE is pretty good, the next generation of L1/2 Fenixes.

I have a surefire 9p with a p91 and it's a nice light, but I keep that in my tool box at work just incase I need the extra illumination, but it's just too big to carry around with me.
