Hi all. I am looking for a flashlight that I can EDC in my pocket. The LD10 seems like a nice tiny light for me but I want something that will throw and be very bright. Which leans me towards then PD20 and PD30. Does the CR123 battery really make a big difference? Out of those 3 light which do you recommend? Any other Fenix light I should be looking at?

Im looking for:

High Lumens
Far throw
Bright

Thanks

I love my PD20 for EDC, been carrying it for most of this year. It sits low in the pocket due to the pocket clip being at the very end of the light, vs the PD30 which would stick up a bit. I carry it in my back pocket right next to my wallet.
Very bright for the size, good throw. Too many modes for my taste, as I leave it on the brightest setting pretty much all the time so far.

You can't get much throw with small lights since a smaller reflector means a wider beam and less throw. If you want a narrower beam, look for something with a Cree XP-E LED instead of the usual XP-G or XM-L since the XP-E has a smaller emitting area, making a narrower beam. The smaller emitting area does mean less output though.

What's the largest size you can take? How much throw do you want? Preferred batteries?

None of the 3 really provide "High lumens" or "Far throw". The best of the 3 is the PD30 rated at 257 lumens and 127m distance. Compare that to any of the TK series, e.g., TK22 650 lumens 235m.

BTW, is there a reason you're looking at 3 obsolete models? The current versions of the 3 you listed are the LD12, PD22 and PD32.

Well, a Maglite Mini incan may be obselete, maybe! Calling the LD10 and PD30 obselete might be a bit excessive. They are just older models.
Sure there are newer lights with newer LEDs now but LD10 and PD30 R5 would stand their ground against many recent more lights.
If the OP is looking for max brightness and throw, I do agree that there are lights with better performances out there though.

Thanks guys for all the replies. I ended up buying the Fenix PD32. I wanted that size so I could EDC it comfortably. I hope this light is good! I just wanted far throw for fun really to light up far areas.
