Hi All,

I'm about to retire my old Fenix L2T 2AA/CR123 light for a new fancy Rebel version of the same.

I just want to be sure that the combo below will work:

P2D RB100

&

L2D 2AA Spare body

The Head and Tailcaps are interchangeable, correct?

Seems the cheapest way to get a 2AA/CR123A is the above.

Thanks.

I'm :twothumbs but also :sigh: about getting a new EDC light, since the old one just keeps on shining.

Yep, sure does... I have the exact same setup and more.

P2D Rebel 100
L2D CE (P4 bin)
L1D body tube

and all the pieces fit "interchangeably."

I would order the P2D Cree Q5 bin thogh instead, it runs cooler and is brighter. If you can wait for the R2 bin, it's even brighter!

Even I, ;)
the same very useful set-up.
In the meantime, we wait next R2-Bin:popcorn:

Since I started this thread and it got bumped, I think I am obligated to report:

The P2D tailcap "fits" the LxD bodies, but not perfectly.

As noted here:http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=180778

The P2D tailcap will only lock tight when it bottoms out on the LxD body: replacing the bottom O-ring (with a larger one) on the LxD bottom adds resistance, keeps the tailcap from backing off, and also makes a nice 100% positive seal.

Yes, I agree with you, luckily is available this solution which I have adopted:

FENIX L1D SPARE BODY AND SWITCH
Convert your Fenix L2D - P2D or L2T V2 to single AA battery use with this high quality Fenix accessory.
  • Convert L2D to L1D for compact carry.
  • Convert P2D to L1D to save on battery costs for general use.
  • Convert L2T V2 to L1T V2 for compact carry.
  • If your switch ever breaks you have a spare !
Not suitable for P3D head.

I had a Natural P2D Q2 but no LxDs. I ordered an L2D body (black of course) and assembled using the P2D tailcap. I posted a pic somewhere around here. It actually looks better in real life w/ the black body than in the pic and I kinda like the way it looks after having it for awhile. Anyway, I like the feel of the slightly larger switch area from the P2D tailcap. It threaded on the L2D body ok, and what I did was wrapped some Teflon tape around where the o-ring goes and put the o-ring on top of that. It just makes contact with the tailcap and you have to watch that it doesn't roll up when tightening the cap, but once on, it's secure. I leave it on. I unscrew the head to change batteries. To my eyes, the P2D Q2 head appears brighter on the 2 NiMh's than with a cr123. It's a super light!
