Fenix PD20 and TK10 Questions

Hi, I am new to the forum and this is my first post. Anyhow, I bought a new SF E1B this past Saturday and lost it the next day :(

I had it clipped to my belt and it popped off somewhere; I couldn't find it. The reason I bought it was for the clip and lack of knurling (save clothes). Since I will no longer be clipping a light to my belt (burn me once...), the clip is not a necessity. Hence, the Fenix PD20 (and the proce is more pallatible to the wife...)

I like the various modes of the PD20 but I'm not sure about operation. For example, one click (with the bezel turned to turbo) and the light is in turbo mode. Got it. If I turn the light off and back on 5 minutes later, will it come up in strobe mode? In other words, does it remember the last intensity setting?

To ask the question another way, I see where you can cycle though all the modes with various clicks; do you need to click it within a certain time (similar to the E1B) to cycle through all the modes?

For the TK10, does the flashlight have a constant on function or is it only a momentary on light? I liked the E1B in that manner - partial puch and its momentary; full push and click and its constant on.

Thanks in advance for the replies. I tried to search the forum to see if these questions have been asked/answered before and found nothing.

That make two of us who are new. If this helps...yes the tk10 does have a constant on. You might want to look at the tk10 on youtube. Some good information there and the folks here are great.

No Fenix light has a memory, meaning if you leave it off for more than 2 seconds, it will turn back on in the first pre-programed mode.

The PD20 doesn't need to be fully clicked on an off to cycle modes. Once on, you can press the switch halfway down without clicking it and release it back up. This is called a "soft press" and will cycle to the next mode.

The T series has a forward clicky, meaning if you press halfway down the light will come on momentarily. If you press all the way down, it click on constant.

Welcome to CPF ! :wave::party:

I have addressed the "slick clip" on my E1B with a thin piece of shrink tubing. Now the E1B sticks on my belt or pocket like glue :)
(This info is a little too late to be of any use to you I suppose...) :ohgeez:

There are very few clips I would trust on a belt. Surefire's aren't one of them. A lot of us like to clip our lights to the pocket instead -- hence I really like the new Leatherman Serac S3. It is similar to the PD20, except it has a pocket clip and a stainless steel bezel, and removes the (IMHO useless) strobe and SOS modes.

Well....I did it. I went ahead and purchased another E1B and a PD30 from LAPG. It should be ehre by the end of the week. I'm anxiously awaiting these new lights and pray that I keep them for more than 25 hours this time!
