I dont have one yet because i am still considering Olight M30, are there any lithium battery configuration that will work with TK40?

I suppose you mean rechargeables as AA lithium primaries can be used without modification. The maximum input voltage known to be safe is 6.8V. Therefore, 2x 3.7V in series may be more than the TK40 can handle, as the input voltage could be as high as 8.4V for fully charged cells. A parallel setup on the other hand may have too little voltage to power Turbo mode.

But 2x LiFePO (3.2V) in series should work, for example in a battery pack consisting of 2x 26500. That shouldn't be hard to build. Unfortunately, the benefits are questionable. 26500 LiFePOs currently available only seem to have 1500mAh, so two of them will store only one half the energy as 8x eneloop AAs.

I would venture to guess that the best rechargeable setup would be to use rechargeable aa's like eneloops or their equivalent. With 6.8v max, that really puts a hurting on your li-ion options.

Everybody has a different opinion of course, but why would you want to buy that TK40 monster if it is not for the benefit of using rechargeable AA?

The M30 peobably has the better beam, is smaller, lighter and takes 2 x 18650 if you wanna go rechargeables. It can handle up to 12 Volt, so that 4 x CR123A are also possible, RCR123 are not recommended, as most have 3,7 Volt which gives you 14,8 Volt in total.

You may take 8 x AA lithium primaries if you want to, but according to the price of those, I wouldn't recommend that solution! 😱

The battery configuration is one or two parallel strings of AA cells 4.8v to 6.8v (NiMH to Lithium primaries). I am assuming the drive would work on 4.2+ voltage of Lithium rechargeables. Given this I would think some alternative battery holders could be made to hold 1 - 3 18650 cells in parallel or maybe 4 cells in series? Just some thoughts.
