Far be it from me to buck a trend L1 if you can spare the money. I've had a couple Fenix lights. Not impressed with the quality. Great output though.

On high the L1 easily lights up my back yard to the fence line 150 feet away.

I really like this thinking here:

Get the L1 now. It is the kind of light that you'll want to hang onto for a long time.

If you want something brighter later on, you can always get the latest and greatest emitter in a Fenix.

If you want BRIGHT, go hang around on the HID forum for a while! I'm becoming an addict there too. For not much more than the cost of an L1, you can get a 30W HID.

Of course, fitting it in your pocket is a bit of an issue there...

Guys - another question. where should I buy it? Battery Junction is out ... and I want it by the 25th!

Where are they in stock? And I really want to make sure I get a CREE. I went to a Bass Pro shops by my house and they still had the older emitters in them, or at least the display model with batteries did.

well I own the q5 versions of the P1d, P2d and P3d...
all are great lights......very bright...
but my edc is a L1 cree

im considering sending it to Milky too, but its really fine as is

My EDC is a P3D rebel but that's only because I'm afraid I'd lose my L1 lol.
