Well thanks to this forum, I finally decided to get a decent charger and chose a C9000. It arrived a few days ago and I'm having a lot of fun gradually (very gradually, as discharge + break-in takes seemingly forever) doing some sorely needed maintenance on my collection of Eneloops.

I just wanted to say I really like the charger. Even if it's not quite perfect in every respect, it seems very well thought out and seems that it will do pretty much everything I need. I also love the way it is so gentle on my batts. So I'm very pleased with purchase and only wish I had not waited so long and gotten one sooner. (It looks cool too.)

Congrats on the charger; it is arguably the best AAA / AA charger on the market. Hopefully you didn't go through the monetarily painful experience of buying junk chargers previous to the C9000.

I have two of them, and only wish for a few refinements:
1. Better AAA slots.
2. All stats displayed at once. (the LCD is big enough!)
3. Refresh mode like the LaCrosse BC-900 (discharge > charge until no further improvement).

Minor quibbles, really.

No, I was using an old but fairly decent Sanyo charger that I got included with a bunch of pre eneloop batteries in one of those Costco packs several years ago. This charger had 4 independent slots which made it better than many. But nowhere near as good as the C9000 of course. It just feels great to finally have something really good and finally I can see how my batteries are doing.

It's nice to get one of the best so you don't have to waste money on trying out the stuff that doesn't work. You've saved a ton of money by starting out with the best.

I've had my C9000 for over a year and it's been a great charger.
However, what's happened during that year is that I found that I don't need the "special" features of the C-9000 as often as I thought I would. Just using it's standard charging function is how I use it 95% of the time.

I also realized how damn many AA and AAA batteries I have and use, so when it came time for more charging capacity, I added the Maha C801D charger to the mix.

I now have a perfect setup for volume battery users; the C9000 for break-in and sophisticated conditioning plus standard charging, and also the C801D for 8-cell capacity in basic conditioning, and more often, standard charging.

Put that C9000 to work. It'll serve you well.

Yes, congrats on a good purchase. I have the last 2 revisions of the C9000. I use the older rev when I want to put more juice into my cells. Great charger, you won't be disappointed.
