I know, yea yea another p7 mag.. But I wanted to thank everyone for their help. I found these forums very informative. I learned alot!

Its pretty basic...

D bin p7 on a HAIII sink

The host was machined down to a 1d

runs DD off an 18650 with a masking tape sleeve

stock reflector (came out good, no donut and barely any artifacts!)

I ground out a little of the inside of the tailcap, pressed the stock spring back in and bent the tip a little to make good connection to the 18650. The li-ion fits perfectly this way...

the beamshot is with the lights on!

Im officially addicted :tinfoil:

that's a pretty clean beam for a non-stipple. do you see any artifacts in real life?
edit: oops, re-read. yes some artifacts but little. hmm i'm going to have to try a non-stipple in mine for ultimate output.

i got lucky with this reflector I guess, you can only barely see a half of a ring when its aimed at a white wall

Nice work. I love those 1D cut-downs. Would love to do this as my next project but since I'm living in Germany it's hard to find somebody who can maschine the threads :mecry:

well I would do it for ya, but my cordless-drill-in-a-vise-lathe has limited capabilities

You were able to lathe a mag with a cordless drill? Do tell... I am looking at cutting down a Mag for a bike light, would be REALLY interested to know how you got the threading to work in the head.

no no!
I sent the tube to a fellow CPFer. I used my drill lathe to hollow out the tailcap, cut the reflector and the extra plastic off the switch

I attched the reflector to the drill, spun it and held a blade to the area I wanted to cut off. It made a perfect cut. same with the switch and tailcap- except I used a heavey grit sandpaper for the tailcap
