I took a twelve dollar, harbor freight, single 123 incandescent, and put a BB400 in it. It has some issues but it works. Just pop out the brass bulb holder, push out the lens, cut down the reflector, or drop in an nxo5, tail switch spring holds it all together. Had to run a wire from the top of the sandwich to the body to make it work. I will try to resolve the ground issue tomorrow.
