Flashlight Buying Guide Survey

Another reason some folks like me won't do surveys is fear of blind links. If you post your questions in the open I would be happy to answer them. I won't click links because it is the easiest way to get viruses or trojans or embedded keystroke loggers etc. I trust lightjunction. I don't trust the folks that host these surveys.
Please excuse me . I need to adjust the aluminum foil in my hat.

I'm the same way, recDNA, but in this case I followed the link after seeing the 'positive feedback' in this thread from others who had already done so. *tips his own foil hat*

That's definitely a good point. I added some clarification on the post that it's hosted by Google Forms. Perhaps next time I'll make a text post available. *also adjusts tinfoil hat*

Completed as well, I totally forgot about the pocket clip, necessary for EDC!

Seems counter-intuitive right? I reached out here mostly because flashaholics are very passionate and meticulous people. When you're looking at a flashlight for purchase you're looking at specific things. I'm still learning about the ins and outs of it all, but seeing a macro-like overview of what the experts look at will help me in fleshing out a guide designed for beginners both on a personal and a professional level. I also wanted input in case there were aspects of flashlights that you look for, but I don't know how to look for since I'm so new. I will also keep in mind making non-one page surveys and have them ask for really specific information for next time. 🙂
My opinion is you can't really listen to the "experts" here otherwise tint, CRI, and moonlight modes might be the only things you hear, things which in my experience non flasholics really don't give a **** about. The differences between 80 and 85 CRI or power consumption of 0.05 lumens vs 0.025 lumens is argued about religiously around here but it's minutiae that 99% of people simply do not care about and really makes no practical difference. Thankfully those weren't options in the survey lol (minus the write ins). An unenlightened buying guide should probably focus on things like lumens, beam shape, battery type used and availability (incl rechargeables), physical size and looks, UI (buttons, momentary), form factor (standard, headlamp, handle, can it be mounted?) and maybe ingress protection but that's only my gut feeling.

What's the link for survey results. I closed the tab and can't find it anymore. Is there a way to see the results without answering the survey?

I forgot I often check if the light has warranty over 1 year.

Edit: Oops, I just clicked "send" with a plank form and got the link for the results. I hope I didn't interfere with the results.

Ingress protection is a new one, I had to look that one up! Learn something new every day. Yes I would tend to agree that beginners would focus more on lumens and the other items you listed but perhaps I can stagger the educational guide as I have no idea where to begin > I'm familiar with flashlights, kinda > I'm looking for more specific features (professional likely) > I want to be a flashaholic

I want to read about the product with a much deeper and robust description than what a graphic could offer me
Depends on my familiarity with a product/mood/interest level
