After having read about someone losing their Zebralight SC600 due to a poor clip I'm interested in coming up with practical ways for securing a light. I've read several threads on various mods done here and there so not to repeat anything already covered (that I found).
My plans are to utilize a split ring or lobster-claw (or locking carabiners, D-rings) with neck, wrist, and belt lanyards, and retractable key reels. The idea being to have the ability to quickly remove/change the accessory to swap between securing attachments.

Has anyone used a key-reel for securing their light and what were your impressions? Practical or not?

Ok, for some reason or another the "Similar Threads" at the bottom of the page gave me better links than the search function. So I have the answers I'm looking for.

Get yourself some weedeater line or very heavy monofilament and try this http://edcforums.com/showthread.php...coated-curly-lanyard?highlight=Coiled+lanyard

1.6mm weedeater line seems to thin and saggy, and 2.7 seems very thick (suited ok to heavier tools, but not light flashlights) although both easily fit through the paracord.
I would reccomend a weedeater line around 2-2.3mm

I use these lanyards on my U2 when I carry it, and my Lightmeter
