I was hanging around last night, charging batteries and messing with lights, and thought I'd go around and take photos of the lights I have currently in their normal locations. A flashlight tour if you will. Pour another cup of coffee….grab another slice of cheese….and enjoy. We will start off at my nightstand. Currently have the H53c N and the Streamlight 1l-1aa laying around. The zebra almost always gets picked up for around the house stuff and definitely for a late night bathroom run, while the Streamlight gets the call if I need to go outside to check on the dogs etc. These are both great lights.
Next, in my closet I have my Dad's old 2D Maglite with a warm Yuji. This thing is great and I'll use it sometimes to lock up the house and check doors before bed, but mainly it's on standby to provide a buttload of light for a long time in case of a power outage.
Now into the kitchen and a stop at one of the "junk drawers" where a Fenix e20 lives. Got this for an around the house anyone can grab and use light. Don't love it, but it's good quality and can also provide light for a long time if needed while also being a good task light.
In the garage on my workbench I keep this Quantum usb rechargeable light that I found at work. It didn't have a lens, so I used one from a crappy plastic light that was laying around. No idea on the quality of it, but it's pretty bright and has a good lower mode as well. This one was on the nightstand for a while too for bump in the night duty. Could make its way back there. It and the streamlight are swappable I guess.
Lastly we have the car keys. I put an old Olight i1r on my son's keychain, and went with the classic Photon II on mine. Going super minimalist with the keys right now, even ditching the key fob and loving every second of it. Both of these keychain lights are great and I find I use whatever I have attached to my ring a lot. Not sure how much my son uses it, but I'm glad it's there if he needs it.
And that concludes our tour. I do have an i3e that won't stick around unless I send it to Vinh to add a resistor and drop the output. Great light, and LOVE the beam, but too bright and too short on runtime in stock form.
Edit to add charger and batteries
I'm an Eneloop guy so keep these two chargers around and have these little zippered pouch things to store my batteries.
