Curious...

Is it safe to assume that any 2xCell capable light thats advertised as having a ceiling of 7.2V in reality is 8.4 Volts max? Is it accurate to assume the manufacturer is merely listing nominal voltages?

Have any of you ever loaded a 7.2V spec'd light with 2xRCR123 or 2x18650 and overloaded the circuitry with freshly charged cells?

:confused::confused::confused:

If the manufacture spec out a max of 7.2 then that is as high as you should go.

That said, my Malkoff will pull a pair of 2.8v/ea 123a cells (5.6v total) down to just around 3.7v between the two.

Voltage sag really should be taken into account. I'm tempted to run a 6-cell Mag xenon bulb in a 3x123a light, but I'm afraid that nominal 9v lamp will assplode when run at spec. This should really be considered when *writing* those specs.
