There might be a thread already but I looked and if there is I missed it, so here goes.

What flashlights are you GIVING this year, to who and why?

I am giving my niece and her husband several RR lanterns for their backpacking because they need something small to carry hiking yet will work well for their tent and dinner fixing after dark.

My brother in law is getting an Inova X5 because he keeps longing after mine.

My nephew just got his license and a van so he is getting an Inova 24/7 a a RR LED headlamp and an Inova X0 for his vehicle.

My wife gave out about a dozen fauxtons in the giftbags for her nurses aides at work.

One of my son's and my father are getting Fenix E01's as part of their presents. That's about it for flashlights (apart from the several I bought myself :D).

I've given 2 lights as xmas presents this year.

A LD20 has gone to a police officer friend to replace his old L2D CE. The move to a Q5 was worth it.

A L0D Q4 has gone to a work colleague to replace the mag solitaire on his keys.

I've never given lights out for gifts, not yet anyway. But I have thought about what light I would give. It would be a Photon II for their keys.

Bought a 2xAA & 3xAA MagLED combo pack for my father in law.

He likes flashlights, Mags in particular, and it was on sale.
These will be his first LED Mags.

Good thread.

Three Streamlight Stylus Pro's for family. They've gotten very good reviews and seemed like a good simple penlight for non-flashaholics. In addition, I picked up one for myself along with the shorter Microstream. For *ahem* evaluation purposes, to aid in gifting this year.;)

Brass Peak Matterhorns to brother in law, father in law, wife, because they look cool and they might actually carry them since they're so small.

Knew I liked you :grin2:. Every single person on my list has already gotten a Photon II from me in the past. :twothumbs

I'm getting my Mom a pair of AW 17670s and a Lumens Factory HO-4 lamp for her SureFire G2. I got her the G2 last Christmas and she loves it and uses it all the time. I've caught her a few times using some cheaper lights around the house because she wants to conserve the batteries in her G2 for more important tasks. With the LF lamps and AW cells she will be able to use her G2 guilt-free now.

I'm getting my older brother a SureFire G2Z. Like me, he's an avid firearms enthusiast but unlike me, isn't a flashaholic (yet...). I figured that a quality SureFire combat light would be a nice way to introduce him to the hobby.

That's about it; my flashaholic fiancée and I already have plenty of lights, LOL.

My Father-in -law,Brother-in-law,and brother are getting Stanley tripod lights, the version that can split into three lights, and were ordered by my wife for them, thats a switch.

Brother in law - that 2C Luxeon with holster we all talk about.

Nephew (he's 5) - the PlaySkool 2C 3-colour light

Plus 4 C NiCads and a 4C charger, of course!

These are not exactly for X-mas. I gave my wife an Ion. She was complaining that the Arc AAA had gotten too bright (I did multiple upgrades and should have asked her). She loves the Ion. I gave my Brother Inlaw a HDS B42 XRGT. He loves it. But then again he knows I give him lights when I upgrade. I gave two of my wife's coworkers Lighthound fauxtons, she gives me poop as it stole her thunder.

Happy Holidays Everyone!!!

This Christmas started at 1 light for my dad but has recently blown out to 5.

WE Sniper with Q2 for my dad

WE Explorer with a Q2 D36 for my brother in law

2 x WE Defender II's for the boys at my parents work

and last but not least a Mini Maglite with a SMJLED drop in to replace my sister's old glove box Mini maglite that she managed to let the batteries leak and seize inside.

None for me though..............

My wife has already been given the SF E1W winelight for her purse (I kept the E2W for myself.)

My dad will be getting an Olight T-20 along with four RCR123's and a charger.

My two grown sons will each get a Photon Proton Pro and some lithium AAs.

I'm giving:

My Buddy a Photon Proton Pro
My Sister a Photon Proton Pro
My brother-in-law a Jetbeam I Pro
My Dad a Wolf-Eyes Boxer 24W

My dad- Fenix P3D-CE

My brother- Fenix L2D-CE

My mom- "Lighthound" keychain light (to replace the one I gave her last year)

Grab bag - Coleman XRE-3aaa

I love all these lights, however, everyone else would use them way more and it's going to be so fun to see their reactions on Christmas day  Right now the best my dad has is an old incan mini-mag, my brother has a generic 4AA light and my mom has a little squeeze light... needless to say, they are all due for an upgrade :p

Not giving a flashlight, but I am giving my brother (a flashaholic) a 6 x AA adapter for his 2D mag. He wants to play with it and since he has been talking about it, I figure its a good gift. AND since I was ordering, I picked myself up a 9 x AA adapter for myself. We'll have some good competition going.

This Christmas season finds me a confirmed "Flashaholic", so I have finally joined CandlePowerForums. It's all SureFire's fault.

Over the years I've given my family and friends many lights, escalating in recent years to SureFire G2's, E2E's and 6P's. All incandescents. (Of course they all got Photon IIs, too)

This year I am really trying to spread my affliction. :naughty:

This year all my close family get a box of SureFire CR123As, a full (4 battery) SC3 Spares Carrier, an either one of six Surefire E1B Backups or one of seven E2DL Executive LED Defenders.

I have added rubber F04 Beam Diffuser Caps to the E2DLs and I have swapped the crenelated tail caps off of most of the E2DLs and onto the E1Bs for a couple reasons.

First, the E2DLs are quite sharp and pokey for loose pocket carry, as delivered. Using the F04 diffuser caps on the E2DL's sharply crenelated Bezel take care of the front end, and make for a wonderfully bright and smooth flood from that light (pull it off to unleash the remarkable throw of the E2DL), and using the smooth tail caps from the E1Bs takes care of taming the back end. (I've added a couple grommets to the back end to help keep them from slipping out of hands.)

Moving the (not so sharp edged) crenelated tail caps from the E2DLs onto the E1B's makes the E1B's easier to hang onto, also makes them tail standing capable, and doesn't seem to add any significant "pokeyness" while loose in the bottom of a pocket. Win-Win.

My gift to fellow SureFire flashaholics:
Did you know that if you take the cap from a SureFire SC2 Spares Carrier and put it onto the base of an SC1 Spares Carrier, you get a carrier that holds not six, but a much more Karma pleasing SEVEN CR123A batteries, rattle free? (Works best with the seventh battery button down, in the center. Seven is just a better number for those like me, that carry both single and double CR123A flashlights at the same time.)

My personal every day carries:
In my motorcycle jacket: Surefire Digital U2 Ultra. Pants pockets: SureFire E1B Backup, SureFire E2DL Executive LED Defender. (E1B and E2DL modified as described above.)
