I've just received another light I bought the other day, klarus ST10. It was second hand but doesn't look too old. I turned the light on and it flickered on high, like a loose connection type of flicker. It does look like it's been dropped as there's a small dink in the end of the light. Does this flickering mean it's goosed? Worth stripping apart and checking anything?

FWIW i ran it for a while longer and it didn't occur again but was wondering if that's just because it hasn't had a small jolt significant enough to make it play up again.

Some lights will do that to let you know that the battery is getting low. If its a clicky take it off & jump it with a paper clip. No flicker means the switch is bad, needs cleaning or tightening.

Some of my PWM controlled lights flicker when they're low on juice...

Well, looks like the power issue could have been it. I stripped the tail out and replaced the switch cover for GITD and cleaned up all contacts as I went. Tried again and still flickering. Stuck a new battery in and it appears fine now, so fingers crossed it was the battery.

Thanks guys.
