FlikLite upgrade ?

:wave: Sorry not ignoring, I was waiting until I had a pic to upload.
I modified a Flik dive a while ago with Cree XR-E & a small aspherical lens.
As for modifying an original 4 LED FL it would not be as easy. I think the only way would be to machine out & thread the case.
If you can find a FL Luxeon LS1 or LS3 or the Dive then there are more options without machine work.

Wow Rob - ^^^^^ that's got to be the ultimate Flik lite. Was that one of the bunch you made for AWTYD ? I think I saw a group photo over at FF?
Having now pulled the insides/light engine out, I agree with you, not an easy one to convert to a Cree or SSC LED. I think I'll just upgrade the 5mm emitters to some new ones, which should give a slight increase in output.
I know it's an old (ish) product now, but I've only just got one. I've wanted one for some time, but they still go for a fair bit here when they come up for sale. I could not believe my luck when I found one on ebay selling for ……….[Warning – the following may upset you Rob] - 99p !!!!
To be fair, there was another going for £25, mint in the box with spare batteries.
I've had the flik lite sitting on my desk at work for the last few days. It's been very interesting watching the guys pick it up and try and work out how to turn it on, bearing in mind they are all engineers!. Every one of them liked it, and appreciated the clever simplicity in the design.
