There are already not very many flood to throw lights, but as far as one with multimodes, the only one I can think of is maybe the new mini magled. Is there anything else like this but better?

Edit: Bryan of shiningbeam, also just informed me that his store offers a 2 mode of the flood to throw RC-C6

The LensLight Mini (1 x CR123). The latest version has two modes. There was an earlier version with three levels.

LensLight also makes 2 x AAA and 2 x AA models, but I don't know if they're multimode.

I have both a Shiningbeam Romisen N3 and G2. The N3 comes both mulitmode and single. With these lights the head unscrews. As it unscrews the beams gets very floody. They are very secure with the head half unscrewed and with a better beam and more brightness than my Minimag LED.

Both lights let you remove the bezel completly for TOTAL Flood while your eyes are protected from direct view of the LED; making for a nice task light.

So I never used my MiniMag, which lead to the Duracells leaking. Since the N3 is so great, I'm not even going to bother trying to get a free replacement.

cool,,,,just tried what Elliot said above with the N3,,,,works great,,thanks Elliot

Hmm, I have a rc-n3 from dx, the head doesn't seem to come off in the way you describe.....maybe that is a difference in the shiningbeam model?

sol-leks,
I put a multi-level KD board in the DX x2000 flood-to-zoom 18650 light, and replaced the P4 with an R2. It's fantastic.
I also have the warm tint rominsen from Shiningbeam, oddly proportioned with the large head, and ~40% of the middle range is an un-evenly distributed beam.
Like any good canadian kid I've also had my share of mag lights, including the 'new' rebel 60 AA mini-mag
That said, mag's are horible for output. x2000 has the best overall beam through the range of focus. Rominsen has very decent run-time.
I share the commonly expressed sentiment that m@glights are hosts either pre or post modding, but hosts none the less.:grin2:

Yeah I wasn't planning on getting a mag......just the only thing I could think of. That modded x2000 sounds pretty neat but I'm no modder. You should post some pics and beamshots tho!

I've also done this with my Shiningbeam RC-N3s. However, I'd be careful about running it for more than a couple seconds, I would think that the reflector helps to siphon away the heat from the LED.
